16/02/2011 Tour Diary number 3

Salutations from the arse end of nowhere, that legendary title bestowed upon the map between San Francisco and Seattle, right on the interstate in plain sight of a Comfort Inn, some cosy eateries and a Best Buy, with the rural landscape sweeping right up to the picturesque mountains. The perfect setting for a day off, a bit of shopping (I managed to pick up a bunch of cool DVDs for those couch slug moments in the bowels of the bus), some food (despite being on another 24 hour no-food diet to combat the bum bug), and a long hot bath in a motel watching advert-ridden American TV. Paradise itself! A bit of me-time, everyone disappearing like spiders to their respective dark corners, only to meet up later in the bar. It's actually quite a romantic picture I paint, neon lights promising comfort beneath a vast descending sky and the moist familiarity of friends. Aaaarh!
