Excerpts from early album review, Forbidden Magazine USA;
"...Combining the raw, bullet-blasting sincerity of Black Metal with a toned-down solemnity uniquely their own, Throne of Malediction paint a stunning soundscape that at once pulverizes and soothes the listener’s senses. Ceremonial Blood is minimalist metal. Throne of Malediction tend to ignore the stagey showmanship of so many of their peers in favor of a more straight-forward approach to music. However, Ceremonial Blood is not devoid of atmosphere. “The atmospheric sound was . . . added because we personally like that in music,” front man Eric Horner told Forbidden Magazine. “(We) wanted to use certain sounds, to kind of connect the songs on the album and create a better flow. . . .” And Ceremonial Blood does, indeed, flow. From the brutal awakenings of the title track, through a stunning cover of Carpathian Forest’s Bloodlust and Perversion, Throne of Malediction weave a subtle, blood-dripping series of segues, which preface each chaotic track and keep the listener anticipating the next successive horror with a pounding heart."...
"...Throne of Malediction will certainly mature into the sort of balanced Black Metal act that will draw innumerable crowds to headlining shows and festivals. Ceremonial Blood is a showcase of their burgeoning talent, a first offering, and when their communion comes ‘round to the theatre, we shall drink deeply . . . for blood is the life. (Ceremonial Blood will be available in November, 2010 C.E. Ziekte Records)."
