First of all i'd like to say that even i listen to bands like behemoth, burzum, carpathian forest, am not a satanist. Am a muslim. All i wanna say is that, i would love to live accordin to islam, even though i don't practice it anymore.

Moreover, i respect any religion n am against evolution. But, i believe that anyone has the right to take their own decision. U want to be religious or wanna live accordin to evolution, i respect it!
Evolution is about what, and creation is about why.

Evolution doesn't care why.

This is generally the stance of science across the board: this happened. Why? Who cares? It happens. It always happens. We can prove it happened here. We can go duplicate the situation elsewhere, and it will happen again. We can watch it happen. We can reliably expect it to happen in the future.

Religion always wants to say "well, that happened because God wanted it to happen" as though this somehow improves matters. WTF? Who cares? You don't learn anything that way.

There's no contradiction between science and religion. As Devo said in the song Jocko Homo, "God made man, but He used a monkey to do it." If you think evolution is wrong, you must not understand it. And since I personally believe in God, I would add that if you think the creation story is wrong, you must not understand it. They're both right.

Stephen Hawkins ( the most intelligent human on the planet, at least about time & space), summed it up the best. Religion can't disprove science, but science also cant disprove religion. In other words both creationism & evolution could have happened. Science can prove evolution occured right back to the big bang....but they have no idea what set the big bang in motion. Couldve been a spiritual force. Not to pick on Christians, but alot of them take the bible very literally, especially with the whole Genesis shit. I personally feel the bible is like any othe religions book, a book of metaphors. In other words "let there be light"...is probably a metaphor for the big bang. This is really a tough question, so Im sticking with Hawkins...Science will never disprove faith, but faith cannot disprove science.

Good answer. I tend to lean towards agnosticism as well.
I don't believe in any religion with 'gods' or 'jesus'. I goe with evolution. Makes more sense, belivable and possible.
But I have nothing against those with religion. Everyone sees things diffrently.

HAVE SOME FAITH IN THE DEVIL
I just dont believe we came from apes,, I mean if that were true would there not be people still evolving from apes,, or like half ape half people looking things walking around,, I just feel there should be more evidence of this

Yes, I must agree with Shawn. I don't believe in it too. But speaking about the theological theory of our origin, I must say I perceive it more philosophically... not literally. Like the rest stuff from the Bible. ;)

yeah, I'm in total agreement with Adam, too. And hell yeah, being an agnostic is probably the best way to be.
All I have to say on this subject is THANK GOD (not literally...haha) there are still some people out there who question things. I went to a Catholic school for eight years (when I was younger) and their ignorance still astounds me. They took EVERYTHING at face value (especially from the Bible), and they never questioned ANYTHING they were told. It's almost like brainwashing! Now, I'm not saying that they're all like that--look how I turned out--but a lot of them were. Sorry... I can get kind of...rawr...when it comes to religion... :-)

There kind of are. I work in the same office with people who have so much hair on their bodies, it almost looks like fur, and it's remarkably like chimpanzee fur. And aren't people constantly looking at monkeys and saying "man, they almost look human"?

The scientific theory around this is that humans and apes share a common ancestor. It's not that humans used to be apes, but that both humans and apes used to be something else.

The religious argument is essentially "well, where is that something else in the fossil record?" - and science doesn't have a definite answer for that. But we have distinctly human skeletons found in archaeological sites which have hand and foot bone structures similar to apes, and are closer to the size of a gorilla or ourang-outang than they are to a modern human.

Indeed, we have massive evidence that human beings today are a good foot or more taller than they were just a couple centuries ago. We are still evolving, and the trends match up with things we can directly say look more like apes than modern humans do. Some modern apes look more like modern humans than ancient humans do, as well, and it wasn't all that long ago the French courts decided that great apes are entitled to human rights.

It's a matter of great conjecture whether this is because we are now more enlightened about how smart apes always were, because the apes are evolving and becoming more like humans, or because the French are stupid.
