to listen to cradle....no music no life
to see how much of an asshole you can be
Have fun
Huh.. the answer of this question is very complicated... I don't know what would be your answer, BlackMe†al_666 , but I can't say just one thing... For example, imagine you say "To have fun" or "To listen to music"... Well, you don't have fun/listen to music all the time, do you? But you don't stop doing things which are not.. let's say... your favourite activities just because they don't fit your idea of the things you live for... Therefore, you live not just for the things you've mentioned...
I think each of us in our world has something like a mission, which we have to complete... the problem is, I (and possibly noone on our planet) don't know what exactly this mission is... :/
Maybe I should have said "have fun as much as possible" or "do things that make you happy as often as possible"
Or maybe it should have been something else... I dunno.... Just my two cents :-)
My personal goal in life is definately to have fun as much as possible.
There are two kinds of orange. There is orange-color and orange-fruit. Which came first?

Did we say "this fruit shall be called 'orange', and we will now call this color 'orange' because it is the same color as that fruit"?

Or did we say "this color shall be called 'orange', and we will now call this fruit 'orange' because it is that color"?

You can't answer this question any more than anyone can answer yours. It requires knowledge nobody has. And at some point, you have to figure out some way to be okay with that - the idea that humanity simply can't answer certain questions, so we'll never have an answer.
he is right life is a wonderful gift given by the heavens so as he said why not?

No, that's another question.

The answer is "because".

have you ever heard the story...

Yes.

Note the first variation.

Note also that it's impossible to verify whether this story is true.

HOWEVER... my mother was asked the single question "Why?" on a philosophy test at Wright State University in 1977. She wrote a much longer answer than "why not" or "because" (relying on the fundamental idea that "why" may not be the correct question; she was a fan of David Hume). She also got an A. So the question is asked, and people do receive A's, and now that this is such a well-known story I am certain people write "why not" or "because" in response. But I'm betting they don't get A's anymore, if they ever did.
