Greetings all,
I was just wondering what exactly happened to the original Order of the Dragon fan club? I was kind of of out of the loop from right after Thornography came out until just after Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder came out. I remember back when Thornography came out there was a fan club that cost about $30 or so to join, and you got a t-shirt and a bunch of other things when you signed up. It was supposed to have special online chats with the band, first access to concert tickets, etc. (Can't remember exact details it was a while back.)
I've noticed that the url to this site is the same as the old site. Did they just convert it into a free fan message board? Or does it still exist and I'm just oblivious?

Maybe the band weren't able, or didn't have the time to do all the live chats and be a part of the other features promised so they shut it down?...

Continue on topic.
Ah, I see. I didn't realize the fan club was run by a record company rather than the band. That makes sense then, it disappeared when they moved from Roadrunner.
Hmmm, well I think when you're in a band like Cradle with such a diverse fan base its difficult to please everyone. Plus they're incredibly busy so I completely understand them not being on this site as much. I mean there's the incredible amount of work that goes into writing an album, touring, then getting back home to their families and their interests outside of Cradle of Filth. I remember back at the old message board I'd see Sarah, Paul, Martin, Dave, and James replying to stuff, but not that often. (And of course Dani's never cared much for the internet.)

While this may be true, I assume that'll be his excuse for staying away from the 'net for the next two years. Given the (almost always unjustified) hatred he receives, however, I can sorta understand him not being too keen on showing up in popular places where people can utter opinions anonymously.
Concerning the other members; they at least seem to answer fans' questions on Facebook.

That's right, I'd forgotten about that.
I wonder how much of it he actually gets to read. But then, Dani's the member of Cradle that people always swarm, in real life and online. Hell, I wouldn't want to be on the internet either if I were him. If he replied to one comment there would suddenly be thousands of people commenting all wanting their question answered too. Kind of sad actually.
I remember at the meet and greet, I got to see Dani just long enough to get a picture with him and ask a question or two and the next second he was gone because there were 10 other people trying to get pics, and talk to him too. I did get to hang out and talk to Paul and Dave for a good 5 minutes, they were really cool.
And yeah, Dani has always gotten the short end of the stick with people treating him badly. I have to wonder why people hate him so much, he's a really nice guy. I mean, I've heard of him having off days and losing his temper occasionally, but he is human just like the rest of us. I guess when you're in the limelight your negative qualities are magnified tenfold.
Yeah, they do tend to be pretty accessible on facebook, especially Sarah. Out of all of them, she's always seemed to be the easiest to talk to.
