Permalink Reply by LUPUS on August 6, 2012 at 21:32 ... ... ... first cradle's cdr i got is "dusk and her embrace", now i love it and it's my favourite one but the first time i heard it i thought it was insupportable, well then i got the "live bait for the dead" cds wich introduced me totally into cradle of filth as i love 'live stuff' even if the sound is not perfect, by the way, if the main singer shouts at the audience "are you drunk or what?" cos' they look a bunch of zombies, the more i like it!
Permalink Reply by Trey Ville on August 7, 2012 at 3:40 The album that got my into Filth was unsurprisingly, Nymphetamine, but not because it was the "famous single" album, it was actually because I to this very day (after 8 years) find it to be Cradle's most "youthful, energetic, tight, brutal, and wild" album they've put out. It sounds very much like a completely different band (with extremely different production in the guitars than any album they've done) and to this day, I think it was actually a period where the band was most cohesive and influenced, as surprisingly enough, Cradle's old Orgasmic Pleasures demo has the next closest sound, genre, and production to the Nympetamine album (not many fans seem to realize how eerily similair they are in terms of the crunchy 'grind' guitars, gutteral vocals, and the swing beats). I just love Nymphetamine to death, all the way through, even the bonus tracks - and the album introduced me to Liv Tyler, who has such a surreal voice!
And from there, I got into almost each Cradle album. Damnation and A Day, Thornography, Midian, Godspeed, Bitter Suites, Darkly Darkly, and then From The Cradle. To be completely honest though, I just don't like anything much before From The Cradle (which was a very severe turn around for the band's sound) and the only release before that that I really like is the Orgasmic Pleasures demo. But as much as I love Cradle, I find myself addicted to only a select number of songs per release. There's 3 I'm addicted to from Midian, 3 or 4 from Bitter, 4 from Damnation, 6 or 7 from Darkly, ect ect.

I was spending my holidays somewhere away from home and suddenly understood that I had nothing to listen to (what a mistake it was, when I took only 5 CDs with me!). I just went to a shop and bought several CDs, that were placed in the "Metal" section.
I became a fan on the song Nymphetamine. But on the market at that time was Godspeed. So Godspeed was the first album I bought and the first songs I loved were Nymphetamine, Death of Love and Shat out of Hell. Then I found Nymphetamine in a store and so the next songs were Absinthe with Faust and Gabrielle.
But after getting almost all albums and knowing almost all songs, I have other preferences.

I attended the concert, my mind was blown, I was hooked ever since.
