What album got you into Cradle of Filth? Your holy fuck moment
As a cradle fan i really wish i would have gotten in to cradle during there first album. But being American (and only 13) i got into them during the midian album. It was the most memorable day of my life i walked by and at the time there was mtv x which played metal videos and i seen the video for her ghost in the fog. And the only thing i could think was holy fuck there's music like this. So it was off to the internet i went to find out as much as i could about this great band.

The principle of evil made flesh was the first cradle cd I've ever bought! But the first song I've ever heard was tearing the veil from grace, guess I was like 12 years or so!

I honestly cannot remember which album got me into listening to Cradle of Filth. But the first song that got me into them was Lord Abortion so I guess it was the Midian album. First album I ever bought was Cruelty And The Beast if I remember correctly because I was around 11 or 12 years old at the time.

I actually heard them for the first time on a death metal compilation album. The song was "To Eve the Art of Witchcraft"....the drum breakdown in the middle sold me. I then ordered Principle of Evil Made Flesh (had to get it imported since they did not sell it in the States) and after "The Forest Whispers My Name", I was completely captivated. I listened to that album non stop the entire summer I got it and learned all of the songs on guitar. I was kinda my guitar teacher...*laughs

''Her ghost in the fog'' was the first song of theirs I ever heard. Saw the video on Kerrap one day, was the coolest thing I had seen on a music channel for ages!

It was the From The Cradle To Enslave Video. I was wowed when Dani kissed the hand sticking out of the ground.
The song that made me go holy fuck was To Eve The Art Of Witchcraft's intro, it has every thing I like: evil church keyboards, high pitched scream and heaviness.

For me it was "Cruelty and The Beast" I heard "Beneath the Howling Stars" and immediately wanted more. The sheer power in Dani's vocals, the crescendo of guitar, keyboards and drums; it felt like a horror Film in music - and it grabbed me totally. I bought the album and played it and played it - nothing else seemed to even come close. as I bought more albums I found for the most part I was only listening to Cradle - and happy to be. I still love "Beneath The Howling Stars" as much as I did then, so many awesome tracks
Ive replaced the Vinyl Lps with CD's over the years, and they capture my imagination as much today as they did then.

I got into cradle at like 1999 and the song and video her ghost in the fog got me into them its just a simply awesome song and video very fast and brutal, thats how we like the filth horns up \o/

The first song I heard was Nymphetamine (Overdose), on the audio bouquet, and I listened to it everytime it played, (I live in South Africa, so it takes a bloody long time for stuff to trickle all the way down here) then I saw the Babylon A.D. video, and I sold my soul!!!!!
I was so amazed that stuff like this existed, and I'm not letting go now...
