I was wondering if any of you have seen any weird stories on the news lately...I saw a very strange one just this past week: There was this 18 year old African-American guy and he was trying to rob a jail with a pistol...Then he said he should not have been arrested cause it was just a joke and it was unfair he was locked up!!! I found this unbelievable and found it quite funny myself...So, anyways...Let me hear some stories...=-]

Permalink Reply by Kevin Hall on May 28, 2012 at 17:33 I seriously can't think of anything? To be honest I don't watch the news that much ... only the weather but even then I usually go online and also use webcams to view the local beaches etc ... but if something odd (or more "odd" than usual) happens here in Oz I'll post something. LOL

Weird shit happens erryday, you're just to used to it to think its bizzare. I mean, you do have kangaroos and box jellies that could kill you with a single punch/sting.

Permalink Reply by Cassandra on May 28, 2012 at 23:03 I was watching Ellen today and they have this segment called, "Oh, puh-lice" and it's crazy police logs. Some woman reported that somebody broke into her house while she was out and stole pudding from her fridge.

I saw another story recently to and these people were at the laundromat and they had a one year old child with them and the father said,"Let's play hide and seek"...Anyways, the kid was put in the washing machine and someone turned the machine on with the child in it...He was okay, but, damn that is just some crazy shit...=00

Speaking of deadly jellyfish, we did luck it again. There is one about the size of the tip of your thumb that is clear and cannot be seen in the water that has appeared in the Australian waters recently! First a few were noticed in the 1950's but now they are amassing and spreading. Called the Irukandji, it causes severe pains at various parts of the body (typically excruciating muscle cramps in the arms and legs, severe pain in the back and kidneys, a burning sensation of the skin and face), headaches, nausea, restlessness, sweating, vomiting, an increase in heart rate and blood pressure, and psychological phenomena such as the feeling of impending doom!
The symptoms range from hours to weeks, and don't begin until about half an hour after the sting. Very sneaky as if an immediate sting was noticed you could remove the "stingers" before they "inject" by simply rinsing with vinegar ... but NO ... these suckers make sure you are well and truly dosed before you become painfully aware!
They also have the ability to fire stingers from the tips of the tentacles and inject venom.
Aren't we damn lucky down here? :-(((

Permalink Reply by Kevin Hall on May 29, 2012 at 0:20 I wonder if they let him finish the pudding before handcuffing him? :P LOL
