Just got mine... Book 28! xD
Pre-ordered my copy on the first day and I got book #1083 of 1150. This book took FOREVER to get to my house. Maybe the postman was intimidated by the hellish-fyre crackling cover. Mwahaha! :c)
It's possible they bought two. I had the money to do so but I didn't.... really wish I did now, although I would have waited a bit longer before I sold it!!!!

Special Edition Gospel for Sell!!!
I recieved the book a while back, it's really very good and is what I expected it would be like... however I still think Cradle of Filth/Dani should write a proper Autobiography of the band including every possible detail.

One thing that dissapointed me a fair bit in the book and that looked very petty to me was when they said that Gian replaced Paul after he left... everyone knows it was Stuart who replaced Paul, Gian didn't even join the band until after Dusk was recorded. I found the general ignorance of Stuarts contribution to the band very sad. Stuart pretty much created the COF sound that we all see as the true classic COF. Principle was a great album but it was not by any means close to how fantastic the band became when Stuart joined and (excuse the pun) re-vamped the band's sound to become the biggest selling black metal band on earth. I know Stuart didn't write allot of the songs on Dusk and Vempire but he sure as hell made them better and changed the style of them to something far more grand and atmospheric. I believe a far bigger credit is due to Stuart... He may have had a reputation for not being a very easy man to work with but as a musician he was flawless. It's a shame he is under a legal gagging clause that prevents him speaking out about the events during his 'removal' from the band, as I would very much like to hear what he has to say about it all.

On the subject of the new hardback edition of The Gospel Of Filth... It's good that it has been made available for those who missed out, though including the extra chapter in that one as well is a bit cheeky considering they said that chapter was for the first edition only!

Bring on a proper Autobiography I say... I really loved reading the chapter about the bands tour antics in The Gospel. I'd like to read more tales of the early days, the studio times, older tours, old members etc...
actually. paul ryan wrote all of dusk and vempire.
but then he left. so they re-worked dusk.
stuart just wrote stuff for cruelty
then he left.

Re-read my post... I already know who wrote what. What matters is who formed the sound of the band after the Ryan's and Allender left. The sound that actually made the band legendary was the one that Stuart was a major factor in creating... without his guitar style the other albums would have turned out just as amature as T.P.O.E.M.F. sounded. Stuart may not have written many of the songs on Dusk and Vempire but he sure as hell kicked the band up the arse and made them the great icons of their age that they were. One listen of any album with his guitar playing on quickly moots most of the newer stuff. He didn't leave, he was unfairly fired by Dani and the management, which is the reason Lecter left at the same time in protest against the firing.

You know what? My book is bent because I stuffed it in my laptop bag while I was heading back out to my apartment.

Im mad....

Book 28 took one for the team guys.
It does seem unfair to you guys.
I never bought the Special Edition, I was going to wait until the paperback edition came out.
Then, this new hardcover edition gets thrown at my face.
If I buy it, then I'll feel like I just slapped those who bought the Special Edition in the face.

I'm okay with people getting a copy, but it's just the idea there getting the same thing we paid for but in a different style. In a weird way it's like we got ripped off, for the simple fact why sell us a book and turn and around sell the same thing but a different cover. And it almost make's the value of our books go down.

So if I'm reading the info correct off this page. This book is the same as the special edition just with a blue hardback cover.

Wasn't the idea of the special edition to be just that? Not sell it cheaper but with some strange blue cover which isn't bad but you get what I'm saying, WTF???
FAB Press states in the description that the new hardback edition is still the first edition of the book. I was aware that they were going to put it into a hardback edition, but it states in our bible, signed special edition that, "this bonus chapter is unique to the 'special editon'."

So since this book sold so well and people still want it, the company wants to run another special edition for those who was less fortunate to pre-order before the stroke of 12 on Halloween. I don't see anything wrong with it other than how they stated that sentence up above, and how they were trying to push it on everybody to buy the special bible edition or you won't read Dani's extra chapter. haha.

We have our leather-bible signed copy which is a perfect collectors item for hardcore fans, only 1150 were manufactured like this, come on. No one is gonna get angry if you buy this new edition. It shed the price a little bit for people's budgets.
I also feel "very wronged and very outraged". We were led to believe that the only way we would get the bonus chapter was if we purchased the Bible style edition. Don't get me wrong, I'm really glad I got the special edition, but now I'm left wondering just how "special" it is!

My sentiments exactly. I am a little vexed about it, to be entirely honest.

Ok everyone who brought the Special bible edition is getting pissed about this new hardcover version, am I? Let me tell you! I was aware there was going to be a hardback copy but in my mind it was as a hardback version of the softcover book, meaning no bonus chapter! that bonus chapter is what sets it apart from the rest and is the only thing which allows it to be identified as elitist in comparison with the other versions. Obviously the special ed. has the 'bible' style but that is just a gimmick for me, the main thing is the bonus chapter! the description about the hardcover version states 'This features exactly the same written content as the Bible edition, minus the executive, decorative thrills, (i.e it still has my chapter!) and because of this less attention to detail, it is also far less expensive.' Minus the executive and decorative thrills! that something I guess.
In truth one could see the hardback cover as a weak contender for those weak masses who will never be on the same page as us Special leather bound hand signed bible edition owners. I think in fact the production of these hardcover versions will increase the special-ness of the limited leather bound books, they are the originals remember!
