Not sure will I buy either one. I read a lot of books and buy them so this far spending £50 on a book seems quite absurd but we'll see. I could afford it but don't really think I want to pay for it.

I blow $100 easily every week partying, going out and eating and other extra cirriculars....and what to show for it?? Point is $100 for a book made of great craftsmanship and authored by Dani is easily worth it.. stop being so cheap. or at least stop discouraging others.. I forgot your Jewish.. trying hard to not be a dick but c'mon dude seriously..$100.. what are you saving it for?

I also have pre ordered mine. I want the special edition, because i like the stile. Don't have money to blow it away, but this is a "must have" for me. And i am addicted to books. ;-)

If you don't want to buy it, then don't. Just stop complaining about the price. You have to remember, for such material to print it on, the cost price is going to be dearer than just a standard book.

The price is very reasonable for a first edition. The book will appeal to Gavin fans just as much as Cradle fans and Gavin has a decent fan base of his work especially in the UK.
