Does anyone else think this looks creepy as fuck? The scariest movies are always the movies that involve demonic possession.

The Director William Brent Bell also made a creepy little movie called Stay Alive which I really enjoyed.
Permalink Reply by Hydra 666 on January 7, 2012 at 2:33 I heard the movie was a waste of money. I wouldn't doubt, as all the recent exorcism movies I've seen were horribly bad.
Permalink Reply by ADreamOfWolves on January 7, 2012 at 6:24 Apparently at the movie theater where I live, they were sold out of tickets, as my friends couldn't get in. So, it must be doing well so far.

Permalink Reply by Psychoscot on January 7, 2012 at 17:33 The reviews on the Horror websites have in general liked the film a lot, it's no masterpiece by reading the comments, but a solid little thriller with some good scares! I'll be going to see it thats for sure.
Fairly standard review for this film

Permalink Reply by ADreamOfWolves on January 7, 2012 at 17:35 Friday estimates over here in the states has it at 16,850,000. Not bad for a horror / thriller flick.
Permalink Reply by Psychoscot on January 7, 2012 at 17:44 Yeh thats not bad for a smallish budget movie, and a fairly good haul for a January film when takings are usually at their lowest.
I couldn't really care less what peoples opinions are, I'll go see it and make my own mind up! Theres plenty films I like that cinema snobs would rib me on!

I never understood why they choose to release a horror flick in the middle of January and Winter. You know that's going to hurt budget cuts. That's why I think Scream 4 didn't do as well as the previous 3, since it was released in Mid April!
And yes, very good opening day, as it's budget is at only 1 million !
Paramount Pictures commented saying they hope it's going to be the next "Paranormal Activity" for them.

Permalink Reply by Psychoscot on January 7, 2012 at 18:07 Horror movies generally do better Jan to March, there is the odd one or two that do okay during the summer season and try going up against the big summer films.
They made a mistake with Scream4, there had been too big a gap from the original films to warrant releasing it against the early summer movies. Attention spans these days are short and people had moved on. They should have waited till the fall to release it after the summer films had finished. It still made a ton of cash but mainly on a worldwide level. It did ok in the UK but didn't do very well in the US. Wrong time of year I agree mate to release the film. Still from listening to Craven it did make enough that the studio will back number 5.
Not a fan of the P.A. movies, too similar to The Blair Witch Project which I'm not a fan of.
