I know there is a "Last Film Seen..." thread, but this movie will be so amazing, that it deserves it's own thread.

Alright, who is seeing The Dark Knight Rises this Friday? I already preordered IMAX tickets for Friday afternoon to see it. I did Friday afternoon so I can beat the REALLY crowded theaters during the evening and night. How is IMAX anyway? This will be my first time.

Regarding reviews for The Dark Knight Rises, Rotten Tomatoes rounds all of them up and as of right now, there are 30 "fresh" (good) reviews and 3 "rotten" (bad) reviews. But, read the 3 bad reviews. Pretty stupid reasons.

As far as I'm concerned, at best it'll be as good as the Dark Knight - bland film with some good performances.  But looking at the cast list, I'm not even that sure about the good performances.  The trailer is awful as well.

But that's just me.  I predict everyone will love it (or at least won't admit that they bought the hype too much).

Ticket booked for Midnight showing Thursday evening! I will be there and I will be BAKED OFF MY FACE! lol!

I agree with "older" Sean I don't think it will be better than the last one just a slightly tweaked more of the same! Which since I would rate the Dark Knight 9/10 means I will most likely love it!

Only seen one of the trailers and have basically avoided knowing any details or bought the hype! I learned my lesson after the 2nd fucking Matrix Movie!!!

Why would you want to see the best movie of the year baked? Wouldn't that make the movie worse?

I haven't been to the cinema in over 15 years sober and I go 3 times a week! I always smoke a joint before going in, same with concerts! makes many films far better, and some really bad film watchable! Helps me relax and really get into the film!

I also can't say it's the best movie of the year because I haven't seen it yet lol and we're only in July! Sam Mendes Bond has yet to be released for a start.

I don't think it will be as cool without joker. I mean he was portrayed pretty good in the last film. Bane just looks like a boring bad guy to me.

He looks like an amazing villain to me!

Guess I'll just have to see the movie to find out.

I agree.  Out of all the Batman villains, I was hoping for a more interesting choice.  Bane is definitely one of the most archetypical by today's standards, and I really don't see how Heath Ledger's Joker will be topped by him.

For what it's worth, I think the only things that really redeems Nolan's Batman films are the performances, and Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhart were the only reasons I watched The Dark Knight more than once.  Even very competent and diverse actors like Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, Tom Wilkinson, Morgan Freeman and Christian Bale himself are tragically underused in these films.  Aside from that, it's pretty bog-standard Hollywood hero fare.

Whatever. You don't know what you're talking about. The Dark Knight Rises is going to win Best Picture at the Oscar's and will be the highest grossing film of all time.

Just like Battle: Los Angeles did?

Actually, I don't doubt it will be very high-grossing for a second.  But most of the highest-grossing films are not among the best there are, just like music.

I miss the Joker.

Oh shut up, you know Battle: Los Angeles is now regarded as a classic in the long history of the film industry.

All of you better see The Dark Knight Rises on opening weekend, I want it to beat The Avengers for opening weekend gross.
