I think the main verse ("Chosen by the moon, she's a golden mistress...") is phenomenal. Wish it was overlaid exactly with high vocals in the end of the track, would be hilarious, didn't happen though.
Other than that, they could've done better. And the solo, being absolutely out of place and harmony, simply ruined it. The question is who did the solo. My guess would be James, and 99% it was he who ruined Soft White Throat in the same manner.
Gian used to throw solos in from time to time, but that was organic and didn't interfere with the songs.
Perhaps they should quit this new type of solos?
PS: All IMHO, not meaning to offend anyone.

Has to do with this very post as well, but still.

But this thread is still pointless. Come on, you can think of some better thread ideas, or at least post some valuable information in other threads.

Permalink Reply by Cruel_Destiny on October 19, 2011 at 0:19 Yeah it is an opinion. I love the "Soft White Throat" solo. Chromatic scale, in key and and added some eerie kinda techno/horror vibe. I love teh new solo also and it is done by Paul. It is not all pretentious and conveys a mood instead of just showing off that he can play fast. I think is it pretty atmospheric and sounds well...
Also WTF harmony are you talking about? There is no harmony in that part EXCEPT for the solo harmonizing itself. The background is more of an evil melody. Very different components... harmony is in the beginning and chorus./

Permalink Reply by ADreamOfWolves on October 19, 2011 at 12:26 I find it hard to believe that you like a 4 minute song so much that it's the only thing you've been listening to for days..
It's really not that good of a song. It sounds straight out of Godspeed. Which isn't good.
For me, This EP could have been called Evermore Unnecessary.

"Governed by the moon she's a bold headmistress,
I am lycanthropic Too evolved to miss this" ...
and 2nd verse
"Chosen by the moon she's a cold seductress,
frozen to the bone she's compelled to suck this" ...

Noticed how the EPs offer less and less each time? Vempire, and this is completely putting the quality of the music aside, had one song that had already existed in one way or the other. Evermore Darkly has exactly one track we haven't heard before. From the Cradle to Enslave and Bitter Suites to Succubi were both critizised for having only a few original tracks, but at least they had covers or other interesting material. Quite frankly, Evermore Darkly is, content-wise, little more than a Thank Your Lucky Scars single.
