well, this business disgust most people, but some say one should have the right and freedom to have sex with who ever they want, for what ever reason they want,, it can be dirty but can also be clean if looked after the right way,,

personally, i just see prostitution as just another way to make a living. and speaking of legalities, the government already screws us all out of our money. why shouldn't prostitutes be allowed to do the same? ;p

1. How would you guys feel if your daughter became one??? Watching someone you care about, deeply do that???
2.Sooner or later someone will ask you what she does for a living. Could you honestly say that with your head held high?

You base your argument entirely on what you personally would feel if your daughter became one. That's an entirely selfish view and, unfortunately, makes up a large percentage of those who want it illegal just because of personal preferences and person ideas of decency rather than a pragmatic approach to benefit society.

Well, if you look up opinion in the dictionary, its one personal believe and/or judgement on a subject or matter> I'm not saying mine is right.
And isnt that what this forum is for? people to voice their opinion? You dont like my opinion that fine. But to say I have selfish view? And try to make me sound stupid? Just pisses me off!!!

Well it's a debate on a political matter, and if you really think the only reason prostitution should be illegal is because you would be ashamed to have a daughter become one then ... well ... that's like saying you support the war in Iraq because you hate "towelheads". Also, a daughter can still become a prostitute when it's illegal, although it will be a lot more dangerous than in a regulated business.

Murder, unlike sex, is a crime in itself, and it directly infringes on the rights of another person, unlike the act of selling your body. That's a terrible comparison.

I didn't call you selfish, I said your view was selfish. And it wasn't because it wasn't my view, but because ... well, it WAS a selfish view. It's like saying "Marijuana should remain illegal because I don't like the smell" or "Films with violence in them should be banned because I don't like the sight of blood", do you see what I mean? And your view on prostitution's legal status doesn't take society as a whole into account at all, just the fact that legalising it would make it possible for you to be in a situation that you personally wouldn't like (even though, as I said, your daughter could still quite easily become a prostitute without it being illegal).
That's not political debate, that's just saying "I don't like prostitution because it's bad".

After reading the dialogue between undercoverangel and Sean's Inferno it inspired this:

I speak in terms of this modern day world....specifically (my first hand view of governement is America)
I am fully aware that prostitution has been around for thousands of years.....but THAT was a different world then. When nature still had the primary role in survival. Nowadays, the suvival of the fittest does not truly exist any longer.... (it, of course, is an evolved concept now..)
History and many governments (not the Netherlands since that is the supposed Euro utopia ;) have developed into entities that have way to much to regulate anyway.....legalization of said subjects leads to BIGGER government and as you have read prior......I am a small governement kinda chick ;)
