Yeah but now that I think of it, i dont mind Godspeeds lenght...
Damnation has some tracks that dont seem to fit, such as Babylon AD, Mannequin which sound out of place musically on the cd.

Yeah... it's not why the album is long (Godspeed is, DDVA too) but most songs on Damnation are really fucking bad... if the album was shorter... who knows.

Well....one that is. The one I feel is their greatest concept thus far.

All Im saying is that Damnation could have been cut down some tracks short and Nymphetamine and Thornography COULD have been better, Im not saying they are bad they just could have improved in places.

Hellhound, I like you! : )

"Their lyrics being a desperate attempt of what they once used to be"

I actually think nowadays Dani tries to change things a little.... and that's fine for me. And yes, even the worst albums (Thornography not included once it's far from that) are great ... just like someone said "a bad CoF record still is a good one".
For me every song on DaaD fits perfectly and "Babalon A.D." is one of their greatest songs. I think one of the reasons why people hate DaaD so much is that it differs so much from their other albums. It doesn't sound like some horror or Le Grand Guignol soundtrack, more like some dark fairytale but without blood, gore etc. I can;t understand how you can't appreciate such tracks like Promise, An Enemy, Serpent Tongue, Doberman, Babalon or Thank God. I hate the fact that they're not playing these songs on concerts and it's Dani's favourite CoF's album, so it's definitely strange.
Me too!

i like damnation and a day
Ive noticed how there are no 1-2 minute instrumentals like there are in all other previous albums....with 11 tracks listed, i can only assume that at least two more shall be added to make a total of 13, since every album since midian has had at least 13....really hope they dont ditch the instrumentals, i love them!
They should re-record Damnation and A Day
Actually "Mistress from the Sucking Pit" is an instrumental track, but it's probably a guitar one. On the SE's tracklist in studio there was also some intro, but it have been removed. I guess it'll finish as "Adest Rosa Secreta Eros", although I'd prefer a normal song.

W- Why...?
Because it sounded too thin

Listen to the guitars they are as thin as paper

Yeah, the 100-piece orchestra really detracted from the "thickness" of the album's sound ... [/sarcasm]

DaaD has one of the best CoF's productions, along with DaHE and GotDT. Although I'd like to hear the second guitar, can't understand why they decided to record guitars on DaaD that way.
"The Nun With The Astral Habit" seems very good.
