With every depressed teen and adolescent who happens to pull out a gun in class and shoot everyone, rock has been blamed for promoting violence and pushing people to commit unspeakable acts.
Is this blame baseless? I think so.

I love rap music first of all.. remember those snipers in the DC area?? they were driving around listening to Killa Army (rap)..I have both of their cd's.. I think if some people have a disorder (which alot of fucking people have nowadays) then maybe music does impress their minds a bit.. sick and twisted thoughts run through my mind all the time.. but I can deferentiate between whats sick and whats sane.. some people don't have that ability in which case music I'm sure does effect them..
some people live in sick fantasy worlds on a daily basis and they're not even aware of reality..
that being said, I would go on a killing spree in the name of the Misfits..when I sin, I sin real good..Mommy can I go Out and Kill Tonight? She looks so good in red..

Ok now how about Rap? Which is more encouraging to more people to pull out a gun.
It promotes gangs and such.

Thats me attacking on rap music. Since this topic is about music and its effects.

Period.
I agree- the blame is baseless!
Everyone alive has the capacity to commit unspeakable acts.
No matter how god damn "holy" you are.
Right like those church men who rape people. hmm....where did they get that from?
No one can say that they'ved never seen someone they really dislike standing on the edge of a sidewalk and have never thought about just pushing them into oncoming traffic.
Here is a great example;
i know this foster girl, sweetest most polite girl alive. This bitch used to light her hair on fire and hold her face in the mud so she was like suffocating. She put up with it for two years and never once lost her smile. Then one day she couldn't take it anymore, so she picked up a piece of ice, smashed the bitches face in (broke her nose and most of her teeth), broke her arm in three places, and smashed four of her ribs. She was overly polite to everyone after that still, even though none of them ever stood up for her cause. She was ten at the time.

Do you really think that listening to music, or watching television is going to drive someone to that much rage?
no.
Even without all the violent shows out there, there is still the news, and violent shit is on there everyday. So whatever there is no determining cause for peoples actions.
People just snap sometimes.
Honestly, I don't think Metal or Rock music has anything to do with the way anyone acts these days. It's all in the mind, its what they choose to hear, not what the music expresses. With me, for example, I never had thoughts to begin killing everyone at school after listening to Cradle or someone. For me, the music makes me feel better. when i'm angry, i listen to cradle or something else to release my anger. nothing happens...i just sit in the dark and close my eyes, and before i know it...all is well once again. but then again, people are different. minds think different. but the music shouldn't be the one to blame. it's all what you think.
Exactly- no one can stay calm all of the time, regardless of their bloody musical taste!
