that best represents the album as a whole. This may not neceserely (lol I can't spell) be the best song off of the album. I am just starting to get into this band and so far I have heard a few songs off of Nymphetamine and Thornography.

That's what many called "selling out". +_+

same here.
I think it depends on what "sold out" means. I do think their music has gotten progressively more accessible to someone who listens to more mainstream metal. Some people really don't like that.

Personally, I like the older stuff because I think the lyrics are better and the ideas are fresher, but I find it hard to listen to some of it (both for stylistic reasons and because some of it sounds like it was recorded inside a tin can.) I like the newer stuff because I feel it's less uneven, easier to just generally groove to and enjoy, and mixed better. I don't think any of it is poor quality or unenjoyable.

If you like the newer style (which it sounds like you do) I'd recommend the latest album (Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder) or Midian.

As far as songs from each of those, I'd say "Midnight Shadows Crawl to Darken Counsel with Life" from Godspeed and "Tearing the Veil from Grace" from Midian.

I am hearing CoF sold out. Is this true? If so, is it to the degree that Metallica sold out to?
Also, I am used to thrash metal (Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, etc.). I have yet to dip my feet into into deth/goth/black/whatever its called metal.

I love it. Who doesn't love lines like "Thou art my seventh angel squirming 'neath the forked tongue of the beast"? So sexy.

lol yah i never really understood why no one dosent like that song
Yeah. I don't know if I'd rather watch the girl he's singing to squirm, or be her.

(Heh. Actually, the thought of random sex with rockstars is kind of... weird to me. But within the context of the story... yum.)
