Hi all new here. Slowly getting back into COF after many years. Was a big fan at one point but my intrest faded around 2001 and I got into Hardcore Punk. Havent heard any COF since the Bitter Suites album. Randomly found My Cradle of fear VHS at the bottom of a box last week and decided to see if They were still around. Not only are they still around but it would appear theyve been rather busy. Listened to a few tracks off Midian and Cruelty and to my suprise I found i still quite enjoy them.

Well as someone that hasn't followed them since Bitter Suites, be interesting to see what you think of their recorded output since then. :)

Here, check out this song and see what you think of them currently..

Its not the usual Cradle of Filth. But I get it. Theyve always taken the piss.Even out of themselves. There just throwing a glam element in for fun by the looks. Is the entire album like it or just this track?

A lot of it is like this, they have a far more commercially polished sound these days to what they used to do.

Generally speaking Fans that liked them from the early days don't hold much after Bitter Suites in as high regard.

New fans that have come into the fold in the last few years generally prefer the new stuff over the classic era material.

Guess it just depends when you got into them. I would imagine going from Hardcore Punk to Cradles last 3 albums would be a bit of a jump lol

Ive been out of the hardcore scene for 2 or 3 years now and have everything from Dubstep to Classical on my ipod. Still like to Hardcore but kind of grew out of going to shows. Heard Swansong for a raven today after finding out it follows on from her ghost in the fog. Liked what I heard. Need to sit down and listen to some full albums though. If I can get the time.

Apart from the latest album I have found something to like on all the rest, even if it's just a few tracks here and there on the later albums

ill maybe give the latest stuff a swerve untill ive caught up on all the rest in that case.

I seem to be the odd one out, becoming a fan in 2006, I like some songs from every album really. I don't have that attitude that I love all the new stuff or hate all the old stuff or vice versa. I find the constant change a good thing. :-)

Damnation and a Day the album that followed Bitter Suites is a good place to start, by far the grandest album they have done with full orchestra and big budget. Well over an hour but it has some superb tracks on it.

Agreed, "Damnation... " is bloody awesome!!! Was the first album that I bought!

Yea was reading up on it this afternoon so will prob start there.

@ Christine. When I was into them years ago I didnt often listen to principles or dusk that often. I need to hear more of what theyve relased since 2001 before I can make much of an opinion. 5 Albums and an Ep is a bit of a daunting task though lol.

I agree, you need to take your time. *lol*

It took me a while to get in to stuff like "Dusk..." or  "The Principle of evil..." (wich is still not my favourite album...)
