Permalink Reply by Oryon on June 10, 2009 at 19:20 Sean already mentioned My Dying Bride........and a wonderful recommendation indeed.
Feel inclined to share this from my YouTube favorite list.
I think the video could do without the bathroom scene for sure.....seeing the bottle of the Gilette Shaving Cream did something to me, it took me out of the moment,...after a few more seconds I started to enjoy it again.
That's just my feeling.

For those unfamiliar with avant-garde French black metal sorcerers, Blut aus Nord, this is not typical "black metal". There are moments of pure tremolo picking, blast beating madness, but the guitar tones are what make this album stand out. This album is very spacy, ambient, and mood evoking. This is probably the best black metal release Ive come across in the last decade, easily.
BAN is very riff oriented black metal, the seem to build the songs through an ever escalating journey. The black parts are very raw sounding, but the guitars have an almost David Gilmore-ish 'Dark Side of the Moon' sound and feel to them. The album is largely instrumental, but the vocals are a wonderful 'black metal' rasp. But this album!!!!! Trust Adam, Adam is good, Adam is wise.....
