So, I thought it would be cool to see what others think about this. By most important, I dont mean like, "man that fill was sweet" or anything, I'm talking about songs where the drumming is crucial, maybe the best part of the entire song (perhaps excluding vocals).

For me, the drums in Cruelty Brought Thee Orchids are the most important part. It's also the best drumming in any CoF song IMO.

Queen of Winter Throned

The drums in Cruelty and the Beast are amazing, but that's not my answer since that is not the question. I do agree with you on Cruelty Brought Thee Orchids though, but for me it's between Honey and Sulphur, A Gothic Romance, and your choice.

Here is why.

This and Nocturnal Supremacy...

Actually, anything around 92-98.

I don't really care about drums. I just really pay attention to these instruments in the music, The vocals, keyboards and guitars. So, I guess to answer your question.. Nocturnal Supremacy has a cool drum intro. So, sure. Nocturnal Supremacy.

It's difficult for me to pick just one song, because Cradle use their instruments like surgical tools. Nothing "stands out" more than the other, every single note is important for the feeling of the whole song.

I'd just say that the drums on Nymphetamine are the best, in my opinion, from their latest records. The drums on that album sound awesome (especially the snare drum), really atmospheric, and since Thornography they started sounding a bit "dry" to me. No offence to Martin though, he's great, I'm just talking about the production.

The drum production on Thornography is horrid! The bass drums sounds like a wet cockslap.

The question wasn't really about the production or albums though, it was more about specific songs

From older era: A Gothic Romance

From new records: Tragic Kingdom

Thorno indeed has the worst production so far... not only bass drums!

Agree. I´d like to bring out "Heaven Torn Asunder" and "Haunted Shores".

Anything Vempire, basically. Nick’s drumming on that release… Good God, yes. <3

Not as bad as Cruelty though! On that album they sound like they were recorded in a tin can! For me it's the one weak link on the whole album. There is no bass to them whatsoever!

I doubt you'd find the music the same as it is without drums. Drums and bass make the song sound full, without it you get as Dani describes: elevator music.
