"We are putting the finishing touches on an orchestral
album that we have been working on called Midnight and the
Labyrinth
. It is basically tracks from our first four records but
just done as purely orchestral. It is like soundtrack music and it is
really cool." - Dani Filth.

Dani's Blog 14-11-2010

"The forthcoming COF orchestral album (entitled Midnight In The Labyrinth) I briefly mentioned sometime before, has been re-visited, with a studio date of December the 5th set for big choirs to be added to the haunting melee. All songs will be fully orchestrated akin to a horror movie soundtrack (think Danny Elfman, John Williams, Christopher Young etc) and are comprised solely of tracks from our first four releases ( a la Principle, Vempire, Dusk and Cruelty), 'Funeral In Carpathia' being my favourite conversion thus far."
- Lord Filth-formally Count Backwerdz.

The Gauntlet 15-10-2010: Will Midnight in the Labyrinth be done with a full orchestra or just the band?

Dani:It is a mixture. Most of it is recorded. We just need to add some choir and female vocals for narrations. It will be a mixture of us and a orchestral though. We are also going to add some cello. We need more cello in there for that deep resonating. We hope to finish it all off. It won't be every bodies cup of tea. We might have an exclusive bonus track on their with guns blazing and all. This won’t be elevator music though.

Gun Shy Assassin 26-01-2011:

Paul: “It’s basically we’ve taken some songs off the first four albums and turned them into orchestral pieces,” he tells me. “No guitars, no drums, no vocals…nothing. Just pure orchestral stuff.” Two of the songs getting the orchestral treatment: Summer Dying Fast and Funeral in Carpathia.”

Ultimate Guitar 11-09-2011

Were the songs on Midnight Labyrinth chosen because they translated more readily into orchestral versions? Or were they simply the band’s favorite tracks?
Paul:Well, they were mainly chosen because we liked ‘em and a lot of fans are really into those albums. And also it just kinda made sense to try and revive that type of thing but in orchestral [style]. Because we can’t go around and do another cover utilizing a full band so we decided to do orchestral versions of all them songs. And they worked really, really well; I’m really chuffed with them.

i didnt want to downplay the band-- since they all deserve praise and love for what they do.  if i said HE is because i in truth do pay attention more to Dani that the others.  my bad.

Ok, why would you say HE if you mean the whole band? Forgive me, I'm just trying to understand your logics...

and perhaps this all comes from those with no taste for classical orchestral music?   is what it looks like anyway---- but of course, beauty is all in the eye of the beholder.   I myself, behold much in his works (and when i say his i mean the whole band because he couldnt have done all this and played all instruments alone--- the entire band and all collaborators

I have rarely been negative to anything Cradle released. You can ask anyone here...

i know kevin plays an instrument-- i havent gotten close enough to anyone else here to know any of what you had mentioned---- mabey im just too protective of cof works.  I think what i am trying to point out here is that sooo many are so negative in their criticism-- and i just beleive that since we are all fans, we might want to perhaps give some praise and positive comments on the work---   ill just be quiet  then ;)

did i point a finger specifically at you hun?  no.  is a collective that i observed--i dont blame anyone or name names.

The same here, although that's true that CoF gets too much unearned criticism on this board. Strange though that MitL gets more praise here than I expected.

I agree, opinions are very positive all over, and also for Dani's collaboration with Sarah on "This is my curse", but then, the song's really awesome! :-))

That is 100 percent true. I wouldn't even use the word "rarely".. I think "never" is a better term :p

LOL. So, you think since we're fans of Cradle, we always have to give them positive feedback, never anything negative? Even if we just really don't like the work? I guess not, since we're fans! Ever heard of constructive criticism? These new members continue to make me ponder if there is any hope for humanity..

Nice, finally :)  Mine still hasn't! Luckily I have a full rip, but I want the real thing ... and the TEE ! Maybe today or more likely Wed ... ???
The choirs and strings are real performers? That's interesting, a lot of opinions were they were synths! Anyway shouldn't be long now :)))

Midnight arrived. I'm just glad to finally have my copy!

I looked through the booklet too, there's only the strings and chiors that aren't synthesised. Kinda impressed because the brass and woodwind sounded pretty good! (As did the whole ensemble!)

It's THEM not HE!
