No doubt... Metallica for me is in it, as well. I am not disappointed in their post "Black Album" releases. Any band has its crisis times. However, "Death Magnetic" is the best thing by Metallica since "Black Album".

PS: Iron Maiden is also in the Hall of Fame for me.

metallica are one of those bands that have been through virtually everything-they had their magnum opus(master of puppets), their widely critical success(the black album),their breakdown(st.anger/some kind of monster) and their great return(death magnetic),and through the ages, they have become virtually stable to hold everything they had dear up to others who fought them to success.

metallica do deserve a place, because they have been through everything together.
its a band's life,playing in metallica
Well said, bro. ;)
they deserve it I guess for there first few albums, but they died in my world after ...And Justice for All. If they started at the Black Album, NO WAY they should be in, sorry. Might as well just give Bob Rock the induction...

Death Magnetic album cover an title is plagarism anyhow...

When Cliff died, they died with him.
I think The Sex Pistols were offered to be in it, but they declined in their traditional punk fashion =)

I thought Metallica would already have been in it ... hmph, shows what I know.

I agree with The Sex Pistols though, I think the whole concept is slightly suspicious, with about as much integral purpose as The Oscars nowadays.
Yeah, since the BLACK album is the best thing they done. But what is helping them too is the producer:BOB ROCK is not with them anymore.
You're forgetting Run-DMC, also inducted this weekend. They're the kings of rock.

RIP Jason Mizell, always an inspiration.

Oh yeah... JMJ was great.
A well deserved tribute, no doubt. I loved them from the start and never missed a record. Though I prefer the older stuff I still think they are one of the greatest metal bands ever.
they earned it. they rock!
Its definitely well deserved. We can only hope that now, the doors are open for other heavy bands to get in. Its nice to see Metal getting recognized as its always been the black sheep of rock and roll as it were lol
