So I'm thinking this abum will be one of COF's best releases since Midian.  Combining my favorite songs with orchestra, this will be amazing.  So everyone just put what you want to see on the new album.

I would like:

1. Unnamed Orchestral/narrative Intro

2. Malice Through the Looking Glass

3. Thirteen Autumns and a Widow

4. Queen of Winter, Throned

5. The Rape and Ruin of Angels

6. Funeral In Carpathia

7. Of Mist and Midnight Skies

8. The Principle of Evil Made Flesh

9. Cruelty Brought Thee Orchids

10. Heaven Torn Asunder

11. A Dream of Wolves in the Snow

I'd love to make a wishlist... but since all songs were chosen and already done... The choir stuff will be added soon, and I'm sure it's going to be an epic release! I can't wait to hear Funeral in Carpathia, The Rape and Ruin of Angels and Thirteen Autumns and a Widow.
You'd be surprised how often wishes are made that are mere happy speculations and were never intended to have any influence on the outcome of the desired object - unlike polls started by band members, I don't think this topic was meant to give the band some ideas.
In that regard, It'sABlackMetalReference's list seems pretty solid. Since I never cared that much for Malice through the Looking Glass, they should trade it off for Beauty Slept in Sodom and Haunted Shores, though. Bathory Aria would be nice, but seems almost impossible to interpret classically and orchestrally. If any past-ten-minuter makes it to this album, I pray to any god who is deemed potent enough that it will be Queen of Winter, Throned.

Why does everyone keep saying for all there albums it'll be their best since midian?lol
I just hope they don't use the same shitty dry orchestral sounds they used on the last two albums, it sounds cheap and lazy (not to mention the simplicity of the arrangements...).
cause it's not very hard to have a better release than damnation and on..
they've released garbage ever since nymphetamine, with damnation and midian just being solid releases.

Hopefully they'll try something a little more atmospheric since this is a keyboard-driven album...a lot of the problems with newer CoF could be fixed by having less dry "clean" sounds, I reckon. Adding some reverb here and there, especially to the vocals, giving it that extra ambient touch...plus the guitars always sounded like they have too much compression on them on newer albums, making the overall tone a bit lifeless.

I'm so fucking sick...just go live with Smurfs stupid. I can't even reply properly to the right 'person' or something.
If your talking to me.. then your statement is quite ignorant.
Just because your in love with Godspeed and DDVA and you are electronegative's boyfriend, does not mean you should bash me for criticizing and sharing my thoughts on their newer releases..

Anyway, if they don't have A Dream Of Wolves, or Queen on here.. not purchasing the album. Im sure Cradle will let us down like usual, just like they've let me down ever since damnation..
Not us. Just you..and Adam XD

The biggest problem with the guitars is the lack of lead work, they have seemingly ditched about 80% of the lead work from their newer material, there are none of those beautiful flowing melodies and harmonies weaving in and out of the rhythm. The leads they do have are generaly less than inspiring. Lilith Immaculate was an example of how they SHOULD have done things.

The vocals are dry and they just plain don't do anything with them anymore. Dani just tends to go from growl to the odd shriek here and there, nothing like his varied performance of old where he would use deep voices, varied screams, Sabbat style vicious thrash vocals, death metal roars etc... The latest album could have been so much better if Dani had got his act together and actually did something a bit more varied.

The drums sound very obnoxious these days too, they have that really nasty metalcore sound to them from the whole quantizing and re-sampling craze of late. The drums on Cruelty may have sounded a bit wierd but at least it was purely Nick playing them, not quantized like the new stuff.

The keyboards these days just plain suck to be honest. They are just a pile of choppy sounding, dry, uninspired junk that wouldn't be missed if they weren't there. Long gone are the days when guys like Ben, Damien, Les and Martin poured energy into creating luscious synth backdrops for the guitars and drums to rely on. Think about intros like the one from A Gothic Romance, Beneath The Howling Stars or Of Mist and Midnight Skies. The haunting keyboards in Heaven Torn Asunder or Cthulhu Dawn are another example of the brilliant keyboard work of old.

If I could go into the studio and help them produce an album then I damn well would, it frustrates me to see potentially good songs get held back by flat production and lack of key elements that would enhance the sound and atmosphere as a whole.

It's not to say that the older albums were without their production issues, but the brilliant songs more than made up for any dodgy production work and more importantly the earlier production had atmosphere by the bucketload.
Just what I thought Strapping Young Noodlemantra. Electronegative's stalker, are you kidding me?!

But hey, do you always feel the need to sound like a fag when you're 'sharing' your opinion? You don't seem to do it right... you're always insulting the fucking band saying they're gay, lazy, bad musicians... at least learn to criticize something/someone properly.
