Lyrics or Sound?

what is it about Cradle of Filth along with other sounds in Extreme Metal or whatever you want to refer to it as, that gets you into it?

 

Is it dani's shrieks? growls? screams? and the message towards the song or album?

or is it the sound behind it all that grabs you?

 

for me, it's Dani.And this in no way downdragdes everyone elses ability or contribution they bring towards the music, but when I first heard Cradle of Filth, I freakin was mesmarized by Dani's vocal abilities, and i felt no one else could do as good as he does

think for me its the fact that the band put so much effort into making there albums 'concepts' and piecs that stand for themselves. They make each album an experience, with a beginning middle and an end rather then just a collection of songs. And the stories and vocal.....Gilles De Rais mixed with that voice.....heaven :-)

I was asking if it's the instruments or dani's lyrics that grabs you, you'd be surprised how many people prefer a bands instruments and just think the lead vocalist is crappy, likewise on them preferring the vocalist more than the instruments that make the music, get my drift?
