Permalink Reply by Chris on July 19, 2009 at 3:31 Piercings, now here is a subject i can talk about for hours... personally i have 25 piercings.
On my left ear, scaffolding, helix, tragus, anti-tragus/low placement conch, 2x earlobe (one stretched to 4 mm).
On my right ear seven rings going down the ear with the one in the lobe stretched to 4mm.
I have my left nostril, septum, middle of lower lip, smiley, tongue, tongue webbing, both nipples, one skin diver on my chest, and 2 lowrum hafada's (ballsack).
Im also getting my PA in october and around december some more skin divers. Am tempted to get snakebites aswell. None have been particuarely painful id say, the skin diver wasnt too pleasant as my piercist had to turn the dermal punch really slowly so i could feel it cutting in, but i've had a fair few microdermals and skin divers done.
As for lip piercing i healed mine with a labret then after a month changed to a ring, and that worked fine for me.
Permalink Reply by Chris on July 19, 2009 at 18:13 That's a fair amount of metal you're sporting!
I've had several in each ear (lobe, cartilege, tragus, helix etc.), my nose six of seven different times (for various reasons), center lip done twice, eyebrow once, nipple twice and various temporary surface piercings which I did myself to freak people out!
Now I just have one in each ear. I think I just wasn't built for facial piercings, as they would always go wrong eventually - with my nose, I accidentally ripped it out twice while it was healing in my sleep, the other times I developed scarring and freaked out and got rid of it, my lip was fine the first time but I took it out for too long and it healed, the second time it was fine for a month or two but then became a bit painful and irritating, so I just got rid of it. Eyebrow was done by some idiotic Russian guy my age who claimed he was a professional piercer in Moscow (so I had an hour of this twat trying to shove metal of a too large gauge into a tiny needle hole - I took it out after a day). I did my nipple myself because I was underage at the time (supposedly you need to be 18 because it's considered a genital piercing) and it was fine, but I took it out to go to a concert, or else it would likely have gotten VERY fucked up! Second time I did it it was just irritating me daily, so I got rid of it.

Wow you've had quite an experience with your piercings mate!! Yeah my nose got ripped by my friends dog the day after i had it done, most of mine i've done myself (i've done training, studied my anatomy etc) but there are a lot i wont do myself. Nipples are notorious!!! My first one grew out after my dad dropped a matress over the banisters at me and then my kitten played with it when i was asleep but i've had these ones for nearly 3 years now and they're fine.

Permalink Reply by FILTH 4 EVER on July 20, 2009 at 21:58 It's really down to personal preference. Although some have said that the flat backs of stud/spike jewellery (which is usually metal) can erode your gums over time ... but I wouldn't give it too much thought. Just make sure you get one which isn't too long. As long as it fits tightly, you should be fine. Like I said, the rings look cool, but you notice them far more than a stud (when you eat and drink or just move your tongue around).
If I were you I'd try both. They're easy enough to change once they've healed, and there's so many different types of studs and rings to choose from. Just try a bunch of them and decide which one you like the most. Not until it's healed though.
