Hunting

Does anyone here hunt?? I haven't killed anything in 6 years or so.. I used to go with a co-worker but we have since fallen out of contact. I never killed a buck, but I did get a doe with a bow and arrow.. also I have trapped 2 fox and a snapping turtle.. I'm pretty much an amateur, but did enjoy it when I was doing it.. first of all..just sitting alone in a tree stand watching the sunset over the corn and soybean fields is worth it.. I don't even have to see a deer to enjoy myself.. but when one does come and the adrenaline starts to pump.. whoa baby hunting rules! anyway offer your opinions or experiences..pro or con.. ps no fishing stories about the big one that got away..

thanks guys..I never had a discussion that went over 10 comments before..don't worry all my guns and bow and arrows do nothing but collect dust now.. Once i did participate in something you would be shocked at, but I won't go into that for tender ears...or maybe I will...lets just say 80 guys with bow n arrows in a circle...they let 7 animals out from the center in the morning..7 out in the afternoon..rarely an animal escapes from the circle (if it does, the two guys it went between have the option to go hunt after it) and usually you see boars running around with 5 arrows in it..there are judges walking around with pistols strapped to their sides..they judge who made the "kill shot"..needles to say I did this once on easter weekend and enjoyed some delicious boar's meat instead of the our traditional ham.. thats the kind of animals they let go.. maybe 6 boars, 3 goats, some other things.. in the morning you pick out of a hat to determine your spot in the circle...I bought a tshirt..ha

ha..funny Reekar..what I have described to you is definite redneck shit..like the pigeon hunts too..where you see little kids walking around with guns on their sides.. I'm sure I would be terrified too if a big boar charged at me..not sure if the ones they let go have big tusks though..

Ugh, bullocks, half my post is gone! It was the better half too..

In short I have hunted wild boar, deer, peasant, duck, an broad fishing. I went into lengthy detail about it, but basically I love the sport, love the kill, an love to gut them out an so I can go home an have a wonderful meal. You 'animal' lovers can stick to your Mark McGwire/Barry Bonds chemical plants and animals you 'love' suffering a worse fate than death by living in the conditions they live in for your convenience. Yeah I know, you hate hunting, so you must hate your ancestors, including yourself since you have an specific but not unused organ that aided in things that where hunted cause it was NATURAL. It is not human to not want to take part in your niche of the food chain an ecosystem. Without modern technology, you probably be dead with that way of thing, but lucky you, you where born in modern time.

Are you condoning murder, an genocide, cause this line of assumption and logic was made famous by someone called HITLER if you wish to hunt humans. As for the one busting something on its nose an crushing its ribs...why, regardless...that is inhumane. Many ways to cleanly an swiftly without pain obtain your prey. Yes I know they die, but they dont have to suffer. Gah crushing ribs thats torture.

almost in all cases, you eat what you kill..turkey, pheasant, deer, turtle, rabbit, quail, etc..but you are right..killing fox and raccoon, coyote, groundhog is almost like killing for pleasure for someone like me who doesn't make my living as a trapper... my one friend was a definite professional trapper..he had all sorts of pelts for sale at farm shows and such..they're so soft and look cool on the wall too..ha. but there are positive reasons for killing such creatures..groundhog holes can destroy expensive farming equipment, safety, nuiscance, etc.. but getting back to my point.. when I outwitted the sly fox using a rabbit call and killed him with a shotgun..I did not feel bad at all. But when I trapped him in the trap..that was a totally different feeling. There I was walking up to this thing with his leg caught..he was trying desperately to get away and was also vicious.. I was instructed what to do.. Crack him over the bridge of his nose with a blunt stick, knock him unconscious, then lean on his back and crush his ribs..let the air out of him...whallah you have a beautiful pelt with no holes..but you feel bad.. or at least I did.. I have never done that again..btw..I agree animals shouldn't suffer..but such is life.. animal population control is not a bad thing either..

I just think too much...like what if the fox I trapped was searching for food for its litter. idk I probably won't be able to hunt without remorse, but whatever I also don't want to control other people and get in their case cause they love hunting.

I like what you said about the ecosystem.. your right..it isn't natural to NOT want to be a part of the cycle..
