This isn't a confrontational question. I'm just curious is to how many of you COF fans have been with Dani since The Principle of Evil Made Flesh? Do you truly appreciate the melodics and the symphony for what they are? Cradle isnt just another band trying to play what people want to hear so they can sell out, their music has meaning! May I add, if you have only recently started listening to Cradle, I would take my ass outside and go buy TPOEMF and I also suggest Cruelty and the Beast and Dusk and her Embrace. The other ones kick ass too, I just think their style has changed a bit since 1991. Anyway guys, rock the fuck on!!!!

well im only 15 and i started listening to them in about 3 years, by the release of thornography. my first song was temptation, so it was a bit different when i bought damnation and listened to the promise of fever XD since then i bought all albums and dvd's, except the mannequin and babalon AD singles. they're the only band that i can listen to and enjoy 100%. they make me feel fullfilled and special. they're unique and their unique way of making music is what makes me stick to them.
I've only been listening to Cradle since the summer of 07, couldn't of really listened to them when they first started considering the fact i wasn't born till 1993 XD, but i fell in love with them, my first proper metal band aswell, and i'm addicted, i have V Empire, Dusk and her embrace, Cruelty and the beast, Midian, Damnation and a day, Live bait for the dead, Cradle of fear, Nymphetamine, Thornography:Harder, Darker, Faster, Peace through superior firepower and The 2 Disc special edition of Godspeed... and anything else i dont have, music wise i have downloaded until i get my filthy hands on them somehow ^_^, i also have a few tops, so dispite being relativley new to the band i do know a few things about their past, and of course they have to be my favorite band.
This does make me feel old, too[!!!]..." The Principle of Evil Made Flesh " WAS the first Cradle album I heard & obtained; I was hooked imediatedly! I never, and I mean NEVER heard ANYTHING quite like it; be it black metal, goth, metal, whatever hundred sub-genres you want to list---the vocals, lyrics, creepy funeral- esque symponies, dark melodies and riffs, warrrior style drumming, moments of evil beauty mixed with raw brutality! Dani Filth's lyrics are sheer poetry, as I've stated in other threads before, and does not get the recognition [ in my view] for being the talented lyricist and frontman that he is. I wish I could say I had some of the pre " Priniciple " demos---" Pure Fucking Darkness " to be specific, as I've heard that one is the best[ maybe someone here can tell me how I might go about aquiring a copy( hope, hope!)] but I feel fortunate to be aware of this wonderful entity known as Cradle of of Filth and listening to them for as long as I have, for they are both a musical and literary influence on my musical ventures [ current one especially] and my many writings, and philosophically as well. Their music has also been there for me through the best and worst of times[ I hope that doest sound TOO melodramatic]. I'm very proud to be a long time Filth fan!

Always,

Been with Cradle since the cruelty and the beast album...
Hey u guys are awesome for replying to my poster.... may i say ALL COF fans are awesome but u ones who understand where I am coming from are........... extraAa special (:
Well I would have been with them since the beginning, had I not been one year old when they started!

Like Amz, I only discovered them recently (September 2007), but it's changed my life for sure. It was the From The Cradle To Enslave video that cemented this for me, and I now own all of their albums and EPs and a few tracks from their demos. Without a doubt, my favourite band.

So, like I said, I would have been with them since the beginning had I been able to speak at the time =)
I have been a listener for about 8 years, I own all their main cds except for the two new ones,, you ask me if I truly bleed filth, well if truly bleeding filth means loving the band then Ive been bleeding so much filth I should be dead,, when I first started listening damnation had just come out, so I never new about them when I was like 5 or 6, but as soon as i heard midian I went out and bought their cds from the start
Thanks, man! I wasn't sure whether it was " Pure " or " Total"; gambled on " Pure" [ slaps own forehead; feeling silly...LOL]...I'll check out E-Bay! Thanks again!

hey man...the demo you mean is 'Total Fucking Darkness', its a bit rare but it can be found with a little looking. There is usually always someone on Ebay selling the early demo cassettes.

Hell yes I would've been with them since the start, but they started 3 years before I was born! I've been listening to them for about 4 years now. I started with Nymphetamine and Born In A Burial Gown. Since then I have moved around through all of their stuff, and for the past 3 years I have been trying to get all their demos. I lost a chance at Total Fucking Darkness and Orgiastic Pleasures Foul on Ebay, and I would have a copy of A Pungent and Sexual Miasma that I found at a garage sale, but I swear, before I die I will own them.
I was there from 1993 onwards.....just been revisiting TPOEMF as all the talk on the message board about Goetia reminded me of the good old days of "Total Fucking Darkness"
i did first see them in the summer 2006 june 25.
and it was the Nymphetamine video, and one off my friends showed me them .. other wise i would lissen to some pop crap
and i own Thornography Deluxe:Harder,Darker,Faster. From the cradleto enslave.Damnation and a day.Godspeed on the devils thunder:the life andcrimes of Gilles de Rais.
But i want more but it is so fucking hard to get because i live in Faroe Island.
That must suck.
