Carried on from the other thread (Link to Part 1 of this Topic) which has apparently become buggy.
Like the last one, discuss any upcoming Cradle-related stuff:
- Evermore Darkly EP/Live DVD (October 17th/24th, 2011)
- Midnight In The Labyrinth (April 2012)
- New Album (October 2012)
- Dani Filth's Poetry Book
- Side projects (Temple Of The Black Moon etc.)
Evermore Darkly is obviously the priority at the moment.

They're pretty much straight up death metal with some Egyptian passages thrown in to mix things up a bit, and they're quite good at it too. (Well, "Sethu" was a disappointment, but they're usually a solid group.)
Anyway, the artwork...ehh. I have mixed feelings. On one hand, it reminds me of some of the work inside the "Damnation and a Day" liner notes, which is a good thing, but on the other...it looks kind of cheap, like the cover art for DDVA and the standard edition of "Godspeed". However, one mustn't judge a book by its cover - we shall see how the music itself turns out.

So, the album will have 11 tracks and then bonus tracks for a later release. I wonder if the track titles that Dani gave us are the same, or if they were just working titles and now they're different? He did give us the track titles quite a while ago. We'll see.
As for the cover art, I get a very Egyptian/Middle-Eastern feel to it. As Kafir said, he thought that the album font had a deathcore feel to it, and many deathcore bands (Nile) have Egyptian themes in their music. It looks like there is a casket or something similar to that in the middle, the pillars seem to have certain inscriptions on it, the women kind of have an Egyptian feel to it, as for the wings and fire, maybe representing a Phoenix? I don't know, just what I see. It's definitely not as good as their early covers, but it's one of the better ones they've had.
Permalink Reply by Lifestalker on August 16, 2012 at 23:38 I thought At The Gates of Sethu was good, alot more catchier songs. My favorite is Black Seeds of Vengeance, they really nailed the whole egyptian atmosphere there.

Permalink Reply by Totally Not Kvlt on August 16, 2012 at 23:42 My problems with it were mainly due to the way it was mixed and produced. I feel like it's a decent record, but it just sounds off to me. Just my opinion, though. BSOV is my favorite too, with "Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-Ka" being very close behind it.

Permalink Reply by ADreamOfWolves on August 17, 2012 at 4:42 You're right. That was a mistake on my part, I don't know why I was thinking Nile was deathcore, that was stupid of me, I actually like some of their music, but yeah I know they're death metal. They're a pretty cool band.

lol Noooooo! I gotta catch you there, Nile IS NOT DEATHCORE! DEATH METAL.....
One of the best! "Kafir!" is one of their track names.
I do agree with the egyptian feel, I was thinking it was the manticore, but a manticore looks like a lion. Those look more like "Huge Oynx Wings Behind Despair"

Permalink Reply by ADreamOfWolves on August 17, 2012 at 4:44 Yeah I realized that mistake, I'm not a big fan of death metal or deathcore, but I am a fan of some Nile songs, they're a very cool band, I just wasn't thinking straight when I said they were deathcore. Serpent Headed Mask is probably my favorite Nile song.
