Carried on from the other thread (Link to Part 1 of this Topic) which has apparently become buggy.
Like the last one, discuss any upcoming Cradle-related stuff:
- Evermore Darkly EP/Live DVD (October 17th/24th, 2011)
- Midnight In The Labyrinth (April 2012)
- New Album (October 2012)
- Dani Filth's Poetry Book
- Side projects (Temple Of The Black Moon etc.)
Evermore Darkly is obviously the priority at the moment.

True! My Grandma reached 99, my Dad 89 and Mum 93. So I guess 75 would be average in "Western" countries ... I would guess? :D

Permalink Reply by Trey Ville on August 5, 2012 at 9:18 Honestly, my opinion is that I don't think Cradle Of Filth were any count, songwriting-wise or production wise, on anything Allender wasn't on, with the rare and only exception being the song 'From The Cradle To Enslave', which, actually opposite to most who think Allender caused Cradle's "poppy" sound with Midian, was Cradle's actual first "poppy" song, and Allender had nothing to do with it; it was the old line-up that stayed around just enough to make the first poppy-horror-punk Cradle Of Filth song.
But why anyone doesn't think Allender should be in the band is beyond me. He pretty much started this band. He was on half the 1991-ish demos (like on Orgasmic Pleasures Foul, which was downright brutal as hell and was almost goregrind, which is WHY I like Nyphetamine so much - it sounds like OPF to me!) He was the guitarist for 'Dusk.... and Her Embrace'. I believe he should have a fairly full say in what the band sounds like, as it probably wouldn't exist if it weren't for him. And of coarse, with Cradle being nothing without Dani, the band is going to also sound how Dani wants it, which will be poppy music (I doubt his forte will ever again be progressive Scandinavian-ish black metal). I mean, bands like Dark Tranquillity and Opeth have done the same exact thing Cradle have, there's a time and place for that old antique genre that some people just can't get over.
Half of the bands from the 'old genres' quit, the other half turned poppy (Cradle Of Filth, Opeth, Dark Tranquillity, In Flames, Dimmu Borgir, Novembre, Within Temptation, Lacuna Coil, Marilyn Manson, ect ect) and "sold out", yet to me, they're all still amazing bands. The other half quit, and every now and then there's a rare band with a name like "Forrest of Elgerdargh" that tries to relive the past, and if certain fans like that stuff, then go listen to those bands. Sometimes it works, sometimes it don't, but for the bands that have obviously "sold out" and like doing it, why troll around forums when you haven't liked one of the bands outputs since 1993?
