Carried on from the other thread (Link to Part 1 of this Topic) which has apparently become buggy.

Like the last one, discuss any upcoming Cradle-related stuff:

- Evermore Darkly EP/Live DVD (October 17th/24th, 2011)

- Midnight In The Labyrinth (April 2012)

- New Album (October 2012)

- Dani Filth's Poetry Book

- Side projects (Temple Of The Black Moon etc.)

Evermore Darkly is obviously the priority at the moment.

Yes. Let's all hope the album's title is hilarious.

Fucking stupid...

Im sure soon we will get a name drop of the new album. Dani's blog was like 2 weeks ago or so. He said it would be a couple weeks.

Can't wait. I hope it's a really funny name. "The Pink Album"

I understand where you're coming from, though my opinion is different than yours in that I haven't disliked a COF album yet, I liked DDVA. I have listened to it well more than once. The closest I have gotten to disliking a COF release was Evermore Darkly but I still ended up liking that one too. So yeah maybe this next one will be the one for you. If not this upcoming release, than there is still hope for their next release in 2014 or 2015 whenever that one comes out, I am sure it's going to be one of those two years.

I don't care what they call it as long as it's better than DDVA!!!! and by better I mean LIGHT YEARS better! It doesn't need to be old school or new school it just needs to have a few songs I actually want to press repeat on unlike that last one that was forgotten an hour later!

Actually it is planned release for Halloween (October 31st) this year before the European leg of their upcoming tour

So far ...

Cambridge UK at the Junction on Thu 02 August (warm up for Wacken)

Wacken, Germany

Haarlem, Netherlands with Godseed and Rotting Christ on 07 November 2012

Pratteln, Switzerland on Sunday 09 December 2012

I listen to it everyday. Well, not the whole album, but still. It's the same situation with the rest of their catalog, actually! Remember that "live set" Sean mentioned some time ago? That is fun!

To be honest, I'd be sick of their music if I had to sit and listen to some album from start to finish.

And about GotDT and DDVA being "stellar" or not: I still think that tracks like Lilith Immaculate and Tragic Kingdom are better than anything they did since Bitter Suites to Succubi.

Whenever I listen to any Cradle album, it is always start to finish. Same with most other bands I like as well.lol

Honestly, I thought that DDVA showcased some brilliant songs; the problem was that I felt as though all the brilliant songs were the bonus tracks, where the official album tracklist contained some of the weaker compositions. Tracks like Adest Rosa, Mistress, and Truth and Agony, in my opinion, were three of the strongest songs on the entire release's spectrum. However, I felt that Forgive Me Father was the absolute best song they have released in some time (fun as hell song), and I'm glad that it was at least not simply a bonus track. I believe that Cradle have done better when not tied down to a concept theme (the non-concept songs feel more "From Dani" and seem to focus more on vocal melody, which I like) and I'm glad that this album, when including the bonus tracks, sort of weaved in and out of that. If you add up all the bonus tracks, this album has 17 songs. You can't say Cradle don't work hard to compose many tracks for just one release.

So with that said, I'm personally one of the ones who hope that the next album follows what Dani is saying; not a concept record. However, from the song titles, I honestly get the feeling that this album may actually be based around Greek/Roman mythology, as there's just a few allusions in the titles to words or characters started/used in that culture. These song titles don't really strike me as "rock anthem singles" like say Nymphetamine, Cemetary And Sundown, Forgive Me Father (I Have Sinned), Mannequin, ect ect and do seem to sound more factual and concept based in nature (like the songs from Godspeed or DDVA). I personally hope that Cradle have branched into something new again - I'm just a bit tired of the Godspeed/DDVA sound, and I'm hoping for something that shocks me just like it did when I heard any other Cradle album for the first time.  Personally, I'm hoping for something with a lot more groove and swing, I absolutely adore the type of songwriting on the Nymphetamine album.

But I'm sure whatever Cradle come out with, it won't suck. When the last three albums came out, the first thing I thought of was "this sucks" and a week later, they all became stuck in my mind. I've learned by now that this isn't a band I'll ever hate, and that no matter what they do, Paul Allender and Dani will probably still throw bits and pieces of the same old stuff in there. If Allender were to quit, it'd probably cause me to be a bit anxious, bit even Dani's guest spot with Jezebel proved that he has that vocal swing I love even when apart from his band's compositions so... who knows. I just really hope this new album is very vocal driven, I guess. I'd really like a very wild album, in any sense.

Paul leaving Cradle would be positive for the band.

Oh hey, I see you!

I don't know about 'positive' necessarily, but interesting perhaps.

Didn't Paul write your two favourite albums though?
