It's not really my thing, but Ensiferum and Skyclad are both quite good at what they do.

Korpiklaani (ex-Shaman) is nice. Then again I like bands that are not straight only Folk Metal. Amorphis, Moonsorrow, Turisas and Finntroll have folk metal combined with whatever and I prefer that.

 

For some reason I can't stand Ensiferum.

Midnattsol are a great female fronted folk metal band! I would recommend Nordlys their second album over the first one as it's far better produced.

Hi,

I love folk! My favorite band into this is Omnia, a group from Netherlands, has anyone here ever heard about it? They call their music Pagan Folk and The Raven is my favorite song by them. Indeed it is an adaptation of the Edgar Allan Poe's poem, take a look at the video below: =)
