Well since there's a new album with new music maybe around autumn 2012 and the band is working on it as we speak I think is a good idea to let them know what we expect of it (before DDVA was out James readed our posts and opinions about DDVA and found many of them interesting and somehow funny and I know Paul does from time to time).
So what I expect definitely is not a 360 degree change from the last albums, some experimenting on the music without turning it soft, more variety on the songs music and lyrics, and I hope more epic symphonic keys (from Martin) a new fresh adding! and also I wish a different sound mastering production add more reverb for the music and in particular to Dan's vocals and not as clear in some way hard sharping clear almost cutting off all the human vibe and making it sounds too artificial (maybe it works great for industrial metal) some reverb adds more vibe and ambience to the music making it more interesting fitting so well cradle's musical themes and more keys no doubt about it. And I can bet there's gonna be a special edition for sure... ah!instead of demos on it for me would be perfect covers, Mayhem's freezing moon? or if it's going to be out of metal what about rebel yell from Billy Idol? I don't know surprise me and enlight me, more thoughts will come.

Yeah, they should cover King Diamond or Mercyful Fate..! More interesting than a demo in my opinion. Furthermore I hope they'll incorporate more keyboard instead of orchestration (just like that had in the days when they still used a 'keyboardist' for the albums).

As for the rest...I'll have myself surprised :)

I say it again, why would they care about fan wishes? It is THEIR work!

Plus, isn't the whole forum feedback for them?

I just hope they'll do a cover for the next album :)

Well, if they don't give a fuck about what the fans think and only care about how they want to hear their music, they won't be a band anymore. As no one will respect them or support them, so they lose all of their money and have to disband. So, yes.. They DO care about what the fans want.

I want to hear the bass in the new album, and maybe with some solos by Dave.

I want Dani to add more variation in his vocals

I want well thought-out interludes, structure and lyrics.  Choruses are fine if they aren't after every single verse and have some degree of variation between them.

I would like less blast beats

More harmonies

The return of keyboard instrumentals

they need to go back to using REAL people for their artwork, not all the cartooney shit. i remember in an interview Dani said they like to make their concepts and music life-like, they should go back to that. i know thats probably not a major concern for most of you but i think the artwork from their earlier stuff adds to the feel of the music

Heard Paul will be doing the new album artwork ... see Cthulu Rising etc from Paul's Website

I agree.

Personally I like Natalie Shau's artwork, and it is much more talented than some woman subjected to a bit of photo manipulation that makes up the majority of Cradle of Filth covers, although I would like it if they used a painter next time

On the subject of music, I agree with most people in the fact that they should use more keyboards and bring back the keyboard instrumentals, particularly the traditional one at the start of the album.
In addition, Dani should also do a few more high pitched screams here and there, I felt I missed the lack of them on DDVA...
And finally, more of the buzzing guitar and bass in unison that is characteristic of tracks like Cthulhu Dawn..can't describe it well, its just that characteristic Cradle sound! And more blastbeats ;)

Exactly.  "I think is a good idea to let them know what we expect of it"  Oh shut up.

Yes and no. Like Christine said, why would they care and cater to their fans? They've done that for about two albums already and it's obviously not working to hardcore old school cradle fans...cough*cough*

They obviously had a bit of success with Nymphetamine and the whoring of the song itself.
It was a different sound from previous albums and in a way had it's own new take on things.

So they should be able to do whatever the hell they want, they are musicians. Whatever they are feeling at the time is what they are going to put out there. Pre-planning and saying it's going to sound like Dusk and Midian is just probably going to be another failed attempt in some fans ears.

Let them be creative and surprise us.
