Whenever I hear newer CoF albums, it sounds like the same vocal-wise in every song, which is: A semi-long opening scream, regular ultra heavily layered verse vocals, less layered interlude vocals. Would it be too much if Dani really just put some emotion in it, like a heavy growl, or maybe some shouted cleans like in The Rape and Ruin of Angels, or at least put some more effort into his screams like before the 3rd verse of The Persecution Song. Awhile back I thought Dani was a fantastic vocalist, and he's still very uniqe, but now I think he just sounds like he doesn't care about the vocals these days. I'm just voicing my oppinion, wondering if anyone else thinks the same.
Even if you don't think so, go ahead and post your thoughts. The forums have been pretty stale lately, so it would be nice to see some discussion.

Cradle of Filth hasn't been about emotion?
Permalink Reply by Lifestalker on August 20, 2011 at 0:09 Exactly. Some sounds are just funny, regardless of anything else.
Perfect example:

Same here. This isn't an Emo band or nu-metal.

No they aren't emo. Those were examples, emo being a joke. I don't see emotion in Cradle sorry.

Right? He's annoying. So, any band that puts their emotion through their music (which is what every band should do) is automatically emo? You're so ignorant.

Permalink Reply by House Atlantic on August 20, 2011 at 16:58 Maybe it's the keyboard and atmosphere that give the emotion in CoF's music, not the vocals (at least not anymore IMO). Especially in older albums, I really felt something in the old keyboard interludes, like Black Goddess Rises and Funeral in Carpathia.

I don't know if it's emotion or not, but I still can't listen to Principle/Vempire/Dusk/Cruelty without crying like a little girl.

Permalink Reply by Keman on September 8, 2011 at 19:47 You like Cradle of Filth, don't you? That is an emotion. You like them because their music makes you feel positive emotions when you listen to it.
