yes...
Im one and i love and live it to the fullest, and like Leah said dont confuse it with emo, god i hate that shit.
I really do hate people that label themselves....
Labeling oneself is accepting the "label" offered by the "society". Being a "goth" is a mode of life. Labels may go hang. And the society, too.
i personaly have no problem with people who are different but why people insist on stereotypeing themselfs its insain it just gives others a reason to bag on you for what you are. i personaly am what ever the f*C% i want to be that day haha if it happens to be something along those lines then so be it.
I don't have any problem but I don't like them
I am one and have been since about the time I was seven. I live out in the boonies and I was the only kid in my elementary school that wore black everything and refused to go outside. I'm very selective with my friends and since I want to be a writer I spent more time reading than talking to people. My teachers in Grade 5 told my mother that I was "depressed" and they said to take me to a counsellor or to try Prozac (as if its a drug thats just lying on the shelf...) By grade seven my jet black hair was past my ass, then I went all save humanity and shaved my head. Grew back, shaved it again in Grade 9. Now its about shoulder length, and everyone in my high school knows me as "THE GOTH CHICK"(yes the capitalization is used frequently)
Grade 9 the Emo's came to my school which was horrifying. I watched Nightmare Before Christmas when I was about two, like it was my favorite movie as soon as I realized "Hey these are entertaining!" and anyone who argues that gets to see a video of me in diapers running up to my mother with the VHS copy screaming "I WANT TO WATCH JACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Anyways they invaded our school with the bows in their hair and the two dollar accessory clip ons, their skinny jeans (sorry I absolutely despise skinnies even though they are more punk that emo) and their NMBC shirts. Best day of my life was when this girl wore a shirt with Jack on it, and I was niave so I asked if she like the movie.
"I haven't even seen it, I just bought it because this guy on Nexopia was wearing it."
Needless to say I put that bitch in her place.
But once again I live in the boonies so the fad is kinda dying so all the girls and boys are back to Hollister.
Yay go Goth's
I am goth
i love how this thread continues to go in circles. i think we all agree that stereotypes are there. accept them, or don't,and being "goth" is a state of mind.
