I don't actually understand the concept of EMO and I don't care what someone wants to call themselves. Just the simple act of calling oneself something and then claiming to not like people of another so called other label is ignorance to me. (happens quite a bit on this site!)
I am curious about the whole goth vs. emo ideologies, and I see this whole concept like an anthropology study to a certain extent.
SOMEONE, PLEASE DESCRIBE EMO TO ME. I HAVE ASKED THIS BEFORE ON ANOTHER FORUM AND NO ONE DID! What is EMO music? What is EMO clothing? any other additions are welcomed for my study~ Thanks.

how many times do i have to say shit like this?! EVERY-FUCKING-THING is a variable, itsa notion, it's an idea! there is no set anything, you are what you are and people will call you what they like and who gives a fuck? what does it change in your life if some douchebag calls you an "emo faggot." what does that do to you? nothing but hurt your pride for a minute, and calling them whatever shit you call them back is irrelevant also! just be who you are. whats the point in burning out what little tiny amount of humanity that is left on this forsaken rock with stupid stereotypes?
(once again, not to say that they arent useful here and there.....)
the point is, you are what you are, no one will change that, and no one will ever define it other than you, no word can sum up WHO someone is. i think that the phrase "Don't judge a book by it's cover." is a little too relevant sometimes.

I hate mall goths, weekend goths, and once a week goths.
Today's cradle seems to attract them.
My favorite kind of goth is Victorian goth.

I don't like goths, emos, and all kind of sh*t like that.. I'm a fan of Cradle, so I MUST be Goth ? .. Or if I'm gay, I MUST be emo ? .. Come on people !! Start to use your brain, I have friends goths and emos and they are Good people, just they think important dressing like clowns, or things like that... I'm a regular guy who LOVES Metal music.. and I'm not afraid to listen diferent bands, because no one will tell me what to do, label, fashion, whatever...
