Permalink Reply by Nutsack of Filth on August 15, 2011 at 6:11 I think I (or maybe Inhuman Affliction) started this thread a while back, I'll see if I can find it.
UPDATE: Apparently not, carry on.

Why not just stick to your Brokencyde and symphonic bowel movement CDs and let people who like the band discuss them?

New DVD recorded at Tokyo Dome City Hall will probably be out by the end of the year, by the way. It's a relatively small venue (only 3000 seats or so), which means it should be a very intimate, energetic show!

Permalink Reply by Lifestalker on August 15, 2011 at 8:27 Haha Symphonic Bowel Movements...that made me laugh.
Anyways yeah I started the thread, but before I did I knew you made one in the past Noodle, but it wasn't there anymore.
Well it's hard to say what my favorites are right now since I haven't been able to give them more listens in the past day or so. I like the song The Final alot, also Aggitated Scream of Maggots and Merciless Cult. The latter two kick ass on the live versions. I haven't listened to the new album yet. I just realized they re-recorded their singles, which I don't know if that was a good idea or not. I loved the song Hageshisa...and the newer version sounds inferior to the original :/
Anyways how was the show?
Oh I don't know why my font is so small..
Permalink Reply by Nutsack of Filth on August 15, 2011 at 8:42 I agree that Hageshisa doesn't sound as good on the album version, but I see why they felt the need to re-record it, since the single version was made about two years ago now. Different Sense sounds exactly the same, I don't think they re-recorded that, and Lotus sounds better (although I think they just remixed/remastered it rather than re-recording). The album as a whole is sick, though. Really impressive stuff.
The London show was good, although I missed the last few songs due to dehydration, which forced me outside to collapse like a fat lady on narrow stairs. I much preferred the Utrecht show, since the sound was better and the audience appeared to be more diverse than the squealing weeaboo fans of London shows.
Here's the best live version of Merciless Cult, by the way, from what is my favourite DVD of theirs:

Permalink Reply by Nutsack of Filth on August 15, 2011 at 9:02 Kyo's voice seemed a bit strained in that video.lol
Permalink Reply by Lifestalker on August 15, 2011 at 9:07 That's why I like this DVD, it's a lot rawer, although he hits all the right notes. One thing I'd complain about them now is that Kyo's becoming a bit too good, if that makes any sense. Like his growling is becoming too mechanical - I prefer it this way.

Permalink Reply by Nutsack of Filth on August 15, 2011 at 9:13 It'd be like if Bob Dylan started singing clean and operatic vocals, something would be lost.
I'm not really complaining, but he's starting to only use really low growls and really high squeals which all kind of blend into one eventually and become less impressive over time. Technically very good, but it makes less of an impact on me. Also, it means he moves around less to save his breath/energy ... he mostly just hangs around his box now, so you don't get quite as much of this:

Funny how he is becoming too good....to me that's a good thing. Who wouldn't want someone who is very good vocal-wise to become even better?lol
