From what I understand, you want me to setup a camera for something that most likely doesn't exist? No thanks, science wins.

Although I don't believe in ghosts or anything paranormal/religious related, I do get the feeling that someone or something's watching me, I've thought I've seen and heard things but I'm completely unsure what they were/it was. I sometimes fear that I have an early onset of schizophrenia, my family's had a history of it.

How is that possible? When science is based on facts, I think you're getting theories mixed up with science. Face it, you people only believe in magic and ghosts to add mystery to the world, when in reality it's a dump. Come on, why is it that people who record for ghosts use shitty cameras and film at night with the lights off? When scientists tried ghost hunting they found nothing, using the best equipment.

Agree.

Science was convinced the world was flat, how did that end up for them?

Incorrect! "Vatican Appointed scientists" thought the world was flat! Anyone that went against that theory was killed!

No pure scientist has ever believed the world was flat! In every single case it has been a so called Religious Scientist that has made that statement!

Hermes had mapped out the Solar System before the Bible was even written! Pure scientists followed his work. The Church didn't like that so appointed their own "Scientists" to come up with garbage that went against the belief that the Earth was in a Solar System!

Whoever the US Education secretary is, needs a fucking hard slap! as they are FAILING badly in what they are approving for teaching!

It was proven wrong and we learned something new about the universe.  That's the wonderful thing about science, we're constantly evolving and learning new things, and progressing to make the world better.  According to Kant, a theory is not scientifically valid if it has no potential to be disproven (i.e. "There is a God", "there are ghosts" etc.), and most sensible people would agree.

With religion, it's all static (morally and logically), so you're essentially basing your beliefs on millennia-old blind, unsubstantiated theories or superstitions (which is why we STILL have things like circumcision).  Sure, some try and get away with saying "times have changed" and "oh I think God made a mistake with that bit", which essentially proves that most people don't actually, truly believe what's in there.  Scientists have no issue openly admitting they were wrong, because the new revelation is so much more fascinating.

Okay, that's fine. But, I only said what I said, because Euronymous was saying that Science is NEVER wrong. And he was saying, if Science says it's false, then it's false. I was just trying to prove that Science is not 100 percent right all the time.

Well yeah, it's not a very good way of phrasing it, but I can only assume he means that the methods used in science (i.e. studying empirical data to form conclusions) are the right way to learn about the universe and progress as a species - getting things wrong and learning from those errors is all part of it.

As far as "scientists thought the Earth was flat", though, you must remember that actual science is fairly recent, at least compared to religion, and that the Church tortured people like Galileo for attempting to study the planets.  Scientists were always questioning these things, and continue to do so (although it can now be empirically proven that the world is spherical, unless something REALLY crazy happens).

There's actually an organisation in the US called "The Flat Earth Society" that still believes the Earth is flat and that all the data proving otherwise is lies and propaganda! It's not a small organisation either! They have branches in other countries too!

And people think Scientology is crackers!

"Welcome to Religion" lol

I think the Big Bang theory is correct though?

House The Misfit Graves said:

ok then lets look at the big bang theory. Science swared up and down that what killed the dinos and started life of man. And guess what science was wrong there was no big bang the only thing that was proven was a big ass flood. I think it says that in the bible and has been said in the bible before this science bullshit. No science is not 100% right. The only good thing science is good for is making medicine. More then have of them suck dick. Helps this but may cause a stroke. No joke i was watching tv this medicine add. Starts of do u wake up in the morning if so we got what u need. Death.

Science is based on facts, theories and assumptions aren't science. So, yeah. Physics and basic common sense basically own ghosts and all of that other supernatural crap.
