Hi everyone,

Normaly I don´t post after such a short time another topic.

Today my friends and I discussed about death penatly and terms of imprisonment and I thought it would be an interesting issue to talk about here. So what do you think, is it right to kill serial killers and murderers?

LMFAO! Where the hell did you read The Scots are anti anything Government related! Both Tony Blair and Gordon Brown were SCOTTISH PRIME MINISTERS!!!!! mwhahahahahah!

Socialists are the ones generally against Imperialistic government rule! lol FFS what the hell do they teach kids in US schools!

PS the Whiskey Rebellion was in the US not Scotland and was to do with US Whiskey NOT Scotch! It had zero to do with anything Scottish! and was basically American farmers refusing to pay taxes on their grain! lol

Wait, I'm confused...what's being Scottish have to do with the Whiskey Rebellion? At the risk of sounding like an Ugly American, I thought it was just some stupid tax that lasted for a little while and then was quashed or something, but I kinda forget. But I'm pretty sure it happened in the US.

...right?

Jeeze I don't even know about my own country. I guess it took me talking to people outside the US to realize that.

Oh lord. From my French-descended History teach, apparently all you Scots are drunk all the time, redneck hillibillies who like to distill whiskey. :D

No that would be Americans! Redneck Hillbillies on a large scale is a US invention ;)

Very few Scots distill their own whiskey and haven't for hundreds of years. Being French explains a lot as they detest Brits in general because we constantly beat them at wars and never let them forget how quickly their entire country surrendered to the Germans in WWII. Most Brits hate the French and vice versa! Most Germans also hate the French, in fact at present the French are one of the most hated nations in Europe along with England.

The Whiskey rebellion were mainly a mixture of Dutch and Irish heritage not Scottish ;) Not saying there weren't the odd Scot but the Whiskey made in the US was 90% Irish made! ;) Not many Scots emigrated to the US till after 1900! The Irish on the other hand were some of the first to settle!

Your History teachers seriously failed you!

Basically everyone hates the French, although having travelled the globe several times the English aren't far behind lol!

Scots in general get on with the French when we mix as we fought side by side against the English centuries ago, unlike French/English who really do in many cases despise one another.

Your teacher was half right, the Scots would rather have a party and get drunk than fight.

A prime example is Football "Soccer" When England play and loose, their fans are well known for starting fights and on the odd occasion a riot!

When Scotland loose we find a pub full of the other teams supporters and get drunk with them and have a party!

The Scottish are very famous for supporting Germany when they play against England. Something many English fans get REALLY angry about!  I have several Germany football shirts and even a flag to put out when England v Germany lol
