Please stop writing pretentious music that is predictable in structure and sound. Be diverse and DON'T keep thinking that good metal is "FAST" and "BRUTAL". Your best music and songs have been quite diverse and actually more mid-tempo.

It seems like you are stuck with thikning is has to be "Fast". Fuck fast. Play with emotion and fire! Play from teh goddamn soul and not from what people expect it to be.

Your last album has some hope of change from the last 2 albums in that it seems as if you are just making better music. Make it unpredictable and fucking epic... the song structures really suck compared to your first albums and I think that is why your music has been lacking in scope and emotion.

"Beyong Elventh hour" has the chorus riff how many goddamn times? Screw chorus's!

I just decided to write this because the older albums featured what I am talking about and I hope you get the record execs out of ur head, "Forgive Me Father" is lip service to them, only song remotely mainstream. It sticks out like and sore thumb!(I like teh singbut it doesn't fit the record at all!)

I hope I am clear and I hope you read this thanks, a long time fan.

Agreed.
By saying: "It seems like you are stuck with thikning is has to be "Fast". Fuck fast. Play with emotion and fire! Play from teh goddamn soul and not from what people expect it to be." you contradict your own statement because you obviously want their music to be how you expect it.

Yeah up all night and decided to rant. Not a college paper.... By saying "It seems like you are stuck with thikning is has to be "Fast". Fuck fast. Play with emotion and fire! Play from teh goddamn soul and not from what people expect it to be."

I mean that every interview from tha past 5 years is all about "this album will be really fast, brutal," and it seems that they are stuck because many bands are faster  and the song quality is suffering.

Cradle of Filth have had it. They've entered Iron Maiden stagnation territory now and they won't be coming out of it any time soon.

The band that made the magic is long gone. What we are left with now is a short, fat man with a bad hair cut who is a shadow of his former self and a band comprised of people with their hearts in the right place but their musical ideas in the wrong band.
Heh, "Cradle of Filth"... Heard of this band.
This si what happens when the industry gets into a bands heads . I feel that they are gonna come back into it though. I loved DDVA
DDVA was repetitive and dull. The best riffs also seemed to be the shortest ones that were soon swept out of the way for dull filler riffs.

Listen to how technical the first few albums were. They wipe the floor with the new ones. They were a band with a point to make and lots of new ideas... Now they are a band who have become comfortable and settled.
yeah some songs do get repetitive but I love #3, #2, #5,#6, # 9.  BTW non of their songs are too "technical". Just good ass music.
Completely agree, and Final, how did you get that picture? That means Cradle was founded in October of 91 then. And Goetia was most likely going to be released in Fall/Winter of '92. Nice find!

And Dani seems to be the one who is still up to par with his writing.

Huh, really now? Said it before, but the lyrics of Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa are the band's worst so far. There are some pretty cool lines, but in general, everything after Damnation was, well, worse than Damnation and earlier works.
Since some people (this isn't even directed at any of the forum members here) don't seem to get what I mean by "worst lyrics": Even those so cruelly titled worst lyrics are amazing, creative and beautiful. Just... not on the level they used to be, by far.

ADreamOfWolves: I 'found' the picture by taking it. Gospel of Filth, bible edition, page 45. How's it you out of all people don't have (read) that book...

The only chapter I would read would be Dani's chapter.. I don't care about any of that dark magic, satan crap.. Really just come out with a biography on the band, not that sort of stuff..
