I know there is a ton of people on here
who only listen to cradle's older albums
so what do you consider to be their last great album?
i would say midian
as i did not like damnation
nymphetamine was decent
thornography ehh
godspeed ehh

and also
i apologize if anyone of you take this as an offensive insult to the band
i am not trying to insult them

i give thornography a shot like weekly, like it one day, next day i don't, very uncertain about damnation. The opening track gives you a dark feeling on it, then the first track comes on and you're like ok wtf??

that's one of the worst songs made.
i think GOTDT ranks as the 2nd worst album behind damnation.
i really did enjoy nymph and thorno more than it.
damnation was way too repetitive and boring.
sure it was "symphonic" but not a dusk symphonic
didnt have the same feel as the prior albums.
nymph was the album that got me into CoF
so i cant hate on that album
and thorno was decent, id take thorno over GOTDT tho.

its not a terrible song, but i hardly listen to it. i used to listen to a few songs pretty frequently, caeser was one of them, but i dont listen to it anymore...... been listening to TPOEMF and Midian a lot lately

wow dude, you didn't like 13th caesar?

Midian, by far. That album is fucking magic the whole way through.

After midian, no album 'flows' as well. I don't like Damnation at all - the sound, the songs, or just that general 'era' of the band. Nymphetamine and Thornography were good, they had some really awesome songs (Nymphetamine, Absinthe With Faust, Gabrielle, Tonight In Flames, Cemetery and Sundown, etc). Godspeed was pretty bad, I think. The only songs I still listen to are Tragic Kingdom and The Death Of Love - Second worst cradle album, after Damnation.

Midian is just fucking orgasmic, probably my favorite album...
o ok, i agree with what you said about Midian, a freakin classic, however lately it's been in competition with Dusk and Her Embrace

Bitter Suites =/= album, let alone "great album" =P

Nah, it's your opinion and that's cool, but it's kind of like saying "Disc 2 of Lovecraft And Witchhearts was their last great album"

Dinner At Deviant's Palace..
when i first listened to it.
omg, i was pretty young
and i was so scared.
i love that song now.

Well for a start, it's mostly re-workings and covers, and there are only three full original songs on it (Suicide & Other Comforts, Scorched Earth Erotica and Born In A Burial Gown) - and while these songs are good, they're nowhere near their best in my opinion.

None of the re-workings beat the originals either, and I found the No Time To Cry cover incredibly dull.

i was just referring to that song specifically.

dont talk to me anymore.
i want my ring back.

you can go out with another hermaphrodite
but not me.

Yeah when I said full songs I meant songs with full instrumentation and vocals and lyrics. I consider Dinner At Deviant's Palace to be an instrumental, really (and the lyrics, obviously, aren't original!)

'Suicide & Other Comforts' is one of my favorite COF songs... probably one of the top 15 COF songs, i think
