For those who didn't know the number of their album sales (not including live/compilation) :).

The Principle of Evil Made Flesh - 32,000~

V empire (or Dark Faerytales in Phallustein) - 70,000~

Dusk... and Her Embrace - 500,000~

Cruelty and the Beast - 500,000~

From the Cradle to Enslave (unknown)

Midian (unknown)

Bitter Suites to Succubi (unknown)

Damnation and a Day (unknown)

Nymphetamine - 14,000~

Thornography - 13,000~

Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder - 11,000~

Can anyone help me for figures that I've missed, please? :). I suspect Midian sold about 100,000 copies, but that's just a guess.

wow, the numbers have really gone down, but I suspect that is because of the rise of the internet. More people would rather download an album illegally rather than buying an album and helping the band out...
yeah its really sad.
I mean I love seeing the artwork and lyrics, and just having the CD..

Precisely! They're the only band that I have bought all of the CDs of.

That and also ppd/subscription services like Napster and Amazon.. but I don't know if they count in the album sales figures.

where did these numbers come from?

is this world wide? or europe? or america?

does it include the reissues of dusk/cruelty/midian that sony's released?

i'd be really surprised if midian sold as little as 100k, that was really their "breakthrough" album (commercially)
CRADLE OF FILTH's new album, "Godspeed On The Devil's Thunder", entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 37. The CD sold a little over 11,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 48 on The Billboard 200 chart.

"Godspeed On The Devil's Thunder" is the follow-up to "Thornography", which shifted nearly 13,000 copies in the U.S. the first week out to enter The Billboard chart at No. 66. This was roughly in line with the performance of its predecessor, "Nymphetamine", which premiered with almost 14,000 copies back in October 2004.

(Blabbermouth)
These figures are totally nonsense.
hahaha they're opening week sales
Yeah sucks that people dont support bands or music. They just go on the internet and download by a paid server or free, like Frost/Lime wire. I support bands i like by buying their albums and buying merchandise. They need money you know! Its not like Metal genres make much money. They struggle way harder than rap and pop because they get paid a lot.
The earlier ones came from the Maximum Filth CD. It's really good if you were thinking of getting it. All of the figures up to Cruelty are total sales, but the later ones are opening week sales. Sorry, forgot to mention that at first :P. That means that the later ones have probably, altogether, sold roughly 100,000 copies each?
I thought musicians earn the biggest part of their money by doing live shows? A band gets only 20% of the price of a cd. The rest goes to the label.
I'd personally like if somebody appreciated my music, no matter if that person buys a cd or downloads the songs. Without the internet, I wouldn't even know that Cradle of Filth exists. And they surely earn enough money to have a pretty good life.
Anyway, I bought all of their albums.
