How do you feel about Christian black metal? I personally am fine with it. I don't see why everybody seems to hate them, just because they don't share the same beliefs as hardcore, tr00, and kvlt satanists from around the world? The music is the same as regular black metal, and is as good or better than most current black metal bands. It really bothers me when people who are against Christianity, instantly hate this kind of music. No matter how good it may be (with many Christian black metal songs being VERY good), they might even like the song a lot!, but they just can't listen to it, JUST BECAUSE it's Christian, and then they have to insult the band, question the band members beliefs, and then send death threats to the band. It's ridiculous. Those people are so closed minded, it's really annoying.

This is one of my favorite songs from a Christian black metal band.

Well Cradle aren't Satanists so there you go. Mortification played Death Metal and they were an Australian Christian Band made no difference.

If they actually play BM then it's a Black Metal band regardless of their beliefs. If they play White Metal evangelist stuff then obviously they are not.

Lengsel is a Norwegian BM band that are Christians!

Antestor, Crimson Thorn, Horde, Crimson Moonlight, Frost Like Ashes, Admonish, Miseration, A Hill To Die Upon are BM too though not well liked by the BM elite.

What is silly is proclaiming your a Christian BM band rather than saying your a BM band and you follow this or that if asked.

Basically a contradiction but if it fits the genre it is BM.

Antestor, Horde, Frost Like Ashes and Crimson Moonlight are really good bands :)
Did you like the song Kevin?

Oh god....."Christian" black metal.....

really? Why can't it just be black metal?

I could say it contradicts, but then again Christianity has a long dark history anyways so...

Christians are just expressing their personal beliefs and feelings through music. Regular black metal bands are doing exactly the same thing. The only difference between the two is that they express different personal beliefs through their music. So, why hate on Christians, when they're doing the same thing as satanists/atheists are doing in their regular black metal bands? So, no it doesn't contradict. You just don't like Christianity in general, and can't stand the fact that Christians can play black metal too.

I can't imagine many Christians being fond of Satanic gospel music, though.  Or what about neo-Nazi hip hop?  It is possible for there to be contradictions in music and this is definitely one of them.  Not that it really matters.

What Kevin said is pretty much true - the beliefs of the band members doesn't really matter, but if you're going to interweave them with the music, Christianity and black metal just don't mix, and it's really not surprising that people make fun of them.

Then, the wider picture is that most people just make fun of black metal as a whole.  With good reason, most the time - who takes this stuff seriously?

"Those people are so closed minded, it's really annoying."

Do you think so? Not that I'm on their side and stuff but I guess that's not the point...

Yes I do think so. I am a Christian and I believe in God and Jesus as my savior. Yet, I still listen to numerous black metal bands that completely believe in Satan as their God or want Christianity to be wiped out from the face of Earth. It doesn't bother me. Why should I only listen to music that agree with my beliefs and ignore any music that doesn't? I just listen to the music that I like, regardless of what there beliefs are. Why can't regular black metal bands do that? Why can't they just ignore the fact that they're Christian for once, and just listen to the good music? No, they have to be so "evil" and "tr00" to black metal, they must not listen to any music that doesn't talk about Satan as being so great and amazing. So, yes, they are closed minded.

Well, once they got through the Christian message bit during the intro is wasn't bad at all, musically a very tight band and very professionally mixed, not sure the growls are "Jeeeezzzzuzzzz saaaavvvzzz" or Sayten Ruuulzzz" though LOL

Black Metal = Satanic or Anti Christian, That's the entire point of the genre, to hate Christianity and organised Religion in general. Christian Black Metal = Epic Fail!

So, Immortal is not black metal then? Since their lyrical themes are not satanic or Anti Christian? Hm, never heard of Immortal not being called black metal before. But, I guess they're not since Black Metal can ONLY be Satanic or Anti Christian.

Yeah, I have to disagree with you here David :p

The meaning of Sons Of Northern Darkness obviously bypassed you! Immortal are deeply Anti Christian in their lyrical themes LOL on ALL their albums!
