Spanish horror called [REC].
I haven't bothered with the American remake.

Yup, most horrors these days are crap. Which is annoying because I want to be scared. But it is just so rarely I find anything that does scare me I have given up on the genre for the most part.

However...there is [REC] 2! =D Probably will be awhile before I actually get to watch it though. =(

[rec] is the bees knees .... far better than the absurd american remake
anyone noticed how americas remakes have started to change the title to further seperate them from the original film?? fucking sucks ... most people thought quarantine was an original american idea when its just a shot for shot remake with a dumbed down ending of [rec] which came out only like a year before it anyways, i havent bought a horror dvd for a while cos, well, most of the new ones suck balls, but i think the last one i bought was mario bavas "THE WHIP AND THE BODY" and it rocks!

I agree that horrors are crap nowadays. However, even watching the older ones doesn't scare me much. I can't help but giggle. So... to answer the original question... none. Really, but if some of you advise one...
I wish the Yanks would stop remaking Horror movies from other countries. None of them so far have been remotely as good.
I enjoyed the remake of the Thomas Crown affair, I thought it was fairly well done, Brosnan was perfect for the part and the chemistry between them really was sizzling.

hell, i just wish theyd stop remaking movies full stop
they remake their own as well and it almost always sucks balls
the last good remake i can think of was the departed, but thats only cos scorsese was involved :P

Worse than the remakes and adaptions are the spoof movies. The fact that there are people who actually pay money to watch horrid shit like Disaster Movie makes me lose faith in humanity.

There used to be good spoofs like Dracula Dead and Loving It. But now...*shakes head*

Edit: Though as far as adaptions go, the comic book ones have been getting better. Watchmen was pretty good in my opinion.

nowadays its like every other film that comes out is a friggin remake or book adaptation and it sucks balls
I dont think the current climate helps either Johnny, with money really tight the studios are basically cashing in on what they know will sell even if its crap, hence Die Hard 5, Lethal Weapon 5, Bev Hills cop 4 etc are all on the way.

Was the Thomas remake really 10 years ago now, man I feel old lol
I'd actually be keen for a fifth Die Hard if they did make it. A fifth Lethal Weapon though...eh no. Should not happen.

man no way are they making a FIFTH fucking die hard .... jesus man, didnt they learn after 4?!

Kevin Smith was the only thing worth watching in the 4th. Bruce was too old, the effects were bad, Tim wasnt a decent bad guy etc etc etc I could go on! lol
