Not only number of times, but give us some examples!
I've had to do it many times... and I usually win because what people don't realize is that most of us are a tad bit smarter than the average bear....

I'll start it off....
This isn't a fight, but it's funny as shit

So this one kid was like "OMG, I love Pantera!"
So me, thinking 'awesome, let's talk metal' asked what his favorite song was.
He said... "The Beautiful People"
All I could do was laugh until I almost started crying
*God, I hate stupid people*
He got all pissed, and was like "WTF is your problem??"
I asked him to quote some of the lyrics
By this time, my friends had gathered to laugh at the idiot as he recited Manson lyrics thinking it was a Pantera song...
One of my friends had his guitar (because we have nothing better to do at my school during lunch) and started to play
The kid was like "Yah, that's it!"
So, needless to say, we all started laughing more
To this day, I don't think he knows that he accually likes Manson and not Pantera, even though in a report he wrote about how bad of an influence Manson's music is



Kay, now let's keep it going with more funny arguments and stupid people!!!

At school, like 2 guys always go "blllllooooaaarrrghh!!" when they see me in the hall. They look like they're sick or something. And they do that because they think all metal music is like that, some guys making vomit sounds. And though I like bands like Cannibal Corpse, I can admit that sometimes they make really strange sounds. But that makes them even more heavier.
Also I get things like "KILL!" or "GENOCIDE!" o__o

Me and my friends argue about this all time.. im like the metal head in the group

They always say "omg cradle of filth sucks" or "omg metallica sucks"or "omg" to whatever other band shirt im wearing or whatever band i like.
then we usually get into arguements over how there pathetic hippie bealtes/punk bullshit is somehow according to them better than CoF and metal. Fuck Hippie bullshit. Fuck Punk garbage. That shit died out long ago

And it's still pretty good, if you look hard enough for it

Why?
*i've done many reports on the subject of metal... I know a good bit about it....*

Metal pushes the boundries, setting new ones with each new song released.
Metal is there for everyone who needs it, like a family.
Metal looks society in the face as it gives it a big FUCK YOU through it's lyrics.
Metal is the culmination of our fears, wants, emotions, etc.
Metal takes every taboo and shoves it back in our faces, wether we like it or not.
Metal is extreme, and you can't tame extreme.

But most of all...
Metal is alive because we, as a species, are constantly searching for something that: brings out our inner demons, that lets us be ourselvs, and that isn't ashamed of us for anything.

That's what I think anyway...

I work at a spookhouse so there's a lot of people there that like a bunch of different shit. Well last weekend I was talking to two girls in the make-up room who were waiting to get their faces painted for whatever room they were in. So they were talking about the Jonas Brothers and how this girl in their school loves em. Ugh. Then they had said that she also listens to CoF and that about made me sick. I don't care what a person listens to but if you like the Jonas Bros. than there is no way they should listen to Cradle. And so the conversation went on and they stated that they had an exchange student from Norway or Germany that was into death metal. So in their opinion they think that she started listening to CoF for that simple fact so that particular person would like them better. I thought that was a good example of a person who doesn't know what the fuck they're doing and will listen to anything to get a person to like them better.


I know I've got more stories but can't think of them at the moment

My parents are actually okay with just about everything I do. You have no idea how hard it is to rebel when your parents trust you completely (but it does make it easier to get away with breaking rules.) My grandmother, however, used to give me money on my birthday with the stipulation that I "don't spend it on anything black." Of course, I forgive my grandmother for this, because it kinda pales in comparison to her being racist and homophobic.

I actually got fired because of the idiot kids at school. My boss told me, "We have to fire you. You're scaring the children." I was like "What the fuck?" because I never talked to anyone there, much less told children of my penchant for metal. Turns out the idiots were pointing me out to there little sibilings and told them about "the scary girl who worships Satan." I swear, you wear black lipstick one time and all of a sudden you murder black cats at midnight.

The thing about punk, it doesn't have to be good, it just has to be loud. With metal it at least has to be okay.

The metal scene is a culture. We are realist's, we see shit for what it is and tell it how it is. Growing up I always got bugged because of the clothes I wore. People used to say it was to piss off my parents and society. So the next time some rednecked fag gives you grief give them the devil horn sign, crank up your music and just keep walking. People can either back you up or get out of the fucking way, we seem to do it anyways.

heah, on my school all the bimbo chicks go wild if they see me in a CoF t-shirt/sweater or such.
they'd be like "oh my god, how can you listen to that kind of music?! its only screaming anyway!"
and i'd be like "Screaming seems like something i enjoy listening to now, what he's screaming about is far more worth listening on than your bullshit!"
And then they will get mad and say i'm an emo, "Im not close to being an emo, who's crying on the songs about how bad their life is? Yes, your music! Now get the fuck out of my way."

I love Cradle of Filth so much it's damn near my daily bread, i'd give my left nut to meet Dani :o
The new album rocks, keep up the good work, you have my support till the end :D
